GAME LOG

INJURIES

Ready for Week 14 Hyde (toe) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game versus the Jets, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact Despite having limitations on his practice reps this week, Hyde has been cleared for Week 14 action. The same can be said for Chris Carson (foot), so with Travis Homer (knee) doubtful to play and Rashaad Penny (knee) still on the PUP list, Seattle is slated to roll with a three-player backfield Sunday. In Week 13 against the Giants, Carson paced the unit with 16 touches and a 58-percent share of the snaps on offense. Behind Carson, Hyde had five touches on 25 percent of those plays, while DeeJay Dallas compiled two and 17, respectively.

Limited again Thursday Hyde (toe) was limited at Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact As was Chris Carson (foot). Assuming the Seahawks end up rolling with the same three-player backfield Sunday versus the Jets as they did Week 13, Carson will lead the unit, followed by Hyde and DeeJay Dallas. Carson easily outpaced the other two this past Sunday against the Giants, compiling 16 touches for 100 yards from scrimmage and one TD. Meanwhile, Hyde had five touches for 11 total yards, and Dallas matched Hyde's yardage on two catches.

Puts in limited practice Hyde (toe) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact Both Hyde and Chris Carson (foot) were listed similarly on Seattle's first Week 14 injury report. In Week 13 against the Giants, Hyde took a back seat to Carson, with the former earning five touches on 25 percent of the snaps on offense to the latter's 16 and 58. Meanwhile, DeeJay Dallas picked up the remaining two touches and 17 percent with Travis Homer (knee) still sidelined. As long as the status quo holds, a similar breakdown of reps can be expected Sunday versus the Jets.

Limited usage in loss Hyde rushed twice for one yard and caught all three of his targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 17-12 loss to the Giants.
Impact After narrowly leading the backfield in carries last week against the Eagles, Hyde took a clear back seat to Chris Carson in Week 13, getting out-snapped by a 42-18 margin. This is the usage we'd expect from Hyde while Carson is healthy. The veteran running back could also face competition for the No. 2 role if Rashaad Penny (knee) gets healthy soon. For the time being, he'll spell Carson and possibly take some goal-line work when the Seahawks host the Jets in Week 14.
DECEMBER 7, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Playing Week 13 Hyde (toe) is listed as active Sunday versus the Giants.
Impact Hyde sandwiched limited sessions around Thursday's absence from practice ahead of being considered questionable for this contest. When Adam Schefter of ESPN reported late Saturday that Hyde was expected to play Sunday, he also revealed the running back is tending to a turf toe injury. Such issues can linger for weeks, but Hyde will gut it out as he likely supplements a ground game led by Chris Carson.
DECEMBER 6, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Set to play Sunday Hyde (toe), who is listed as questionable, is expected to play Sunday against the Giants, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact The 30-year-old has been battling a turf toe injury and put in a pair of limited practices this week, and he's on track to suit up for Sunday's contest. Assuming he plays, Hyde should fill a secondary role with top tailback Chris Carson (foot) clear of an injury designation this weekend.
DECEMBER 6, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable for Week 13 Hyde (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest versus the Giants, Joe Fann of NBC Sports Northwest reports.
Impact Hyde was limited at Wednesday's walkthrough before the Seahawks kept him off the field Thursday. Still, in spite of his toe injury, Hyde seemingly has a good chance to suit up this weekend, especially after head coach Pete Carroll indicated he's counting on the 30-year-old to play, per Brady Henderson of ESPN.com. Seattle ruled out Travis Homer (wrist/thumb/knee) yet again, while Chris Carson (foot) doesn't have a designation, so Hyde likely will be the second fiddle out of the backfield if he's cleared to play.
DECEMBER 4, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Doesn't practice Thursday Hyde (toe) didn't practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact The Seahawks held a walk-through Wednesday, after which Hyde was listed as limited. While he experienced a downgrade one day later, fellow running back Chris Carson (foot) again logged a limited session. Hyde paced the backfield with 17 touches on 61 percent of the offensive snaps Monday versus the Eagles, ahead of Carson's 10 and 37, respectively. As a result, the breakdown between the two may reverse if their current activity levels are maintained into the weekend.
DECEMBER 4, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Limited Wednesday Hyde (toe) was listed as a limited participant at practice on Wednesday's injury report, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact Even with Chris Carson (foot) back in the fold for the first time since Week 7 this past Monday in Philadelphia, Hyde paced the backfield by playing 61 percent of the offensive snaps. However, Hyde hasn't efficient, with his 17 touches going for 29 yards from scrimmage. As for Carson, he played 37 percent of those plays en route to 10 touches for 59 total yards and one score. Both Hyde and Carson are limited to begin this week, so the backfield as a whole will need to be monitored as Sunday's game against the Giants draws closer.
DECEMBER 3, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Slowed by Eagles Hyde rushed 15 times for 22 yards and caught two of three targets for seven yards in Monday night's 23-17 win over the Eagles.
Impact Hyde led the Seahawks in carries despite usual starter Chris Carson returning from a four-game injury absence. However, Hyde could hardly get anything going with his larger workload, while Carson ended with eight carries for 41 yards and a touchdown. That contrast could see Carson return to first choice in Seattle's backfield in Week 13 versus the Giants, but Hyde has presumably done enough lately to remain in the mix.

Performs well as lead back Hyde (hamstring) rushed 14 times for 79 yards and a touchdown and secured two of three targets for 16 yards in the Seahawks' 28-21 win over the Cardinals on Thursday night.
Impact Suiting up for the first time since Week 7, Hyde handled clear lead-back duties on a night when Chris Carson (foot) remained sidelined. The veteran performed admirably, consistently rattling off productive runs and also finding the end zone from two yards out in the latter portion of the third quarter for this third touchdown of the campaign. However, Hyde's otherwise impressive night was at risk of being sullied by a key mistake, as he never quite got the handle on a pitchback from Russell Wilson at Arizona's 23-yard line with 2;54 remaining but managed to recover and possess the ball long enough to withstand a replay challenge by the Cardinals after Budda Baker appeared to subsequently rip the ball from him. Carson reportedly has a good chance to return for the Seahawks' Week 12 matchup against the Eagles on Monday night, Nov. 30, but Hyde has certainly proven a capable fill-in if he's needed once again.
