Impact Coach Zac Taylor said it was "precautionary" when Green was removed from Monday's practice. The veteran wideout's continued absence doesn't necessarily mean this is a significant hamstring injury, but it does suggest we'll at least need to monitor the situation. Green is set to play 2020 under the franchise tag after missing all of last season with an ankle injury.

Hamstring injury downplayed Green's (hamstring) early exit from practice Monday was described as "precautionary" by coach Zac Taylor, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

Impact It appears as though the wideout simply tweaked his hamstring during Monday's practice session and was told by Taylor to stop taking reps afterward in order to play it safe. Green will be re-evaluated Tuesday.

Impact Per the report, the Bengals' top wideout appeared to aggravate his left hamstring during Monday's session. Green didn't go in to the team's locker room to get the injury checked out, however, which suggests that the issue isn't serious. For now, we'll consider him day-to-day.

Strengthens ankles during offseason Green's offseason training focused on injury prevention and strengthening his feet/ankles, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Personal trainer Curtis Winters says Green's surgically repaired left ankle is as strong as it's ever been, and the wideout added some new workouts intended to reduce his odds of another similar injury. The 32-year-old is set to play out 2020 under the franchise tag in Cincinnati, where rookie quarterback Joe Burrow has a strong receiver group that also includes Tyler Boyd, John Ross, Auden Tate and Tee Higgins. The Bengals might use their depth to take Green off the field at times, but he and Boyd are the safe bets to see steady targets early in the season. Green believes he can play at a high level for at least four more years, hoping his performance in 2020 will earn him another long-term contract with the team.

Inks franchise tender Green has signed his one-year franchise tag deal with the Bengals.

Impact Green is thus slated to earn $17.9 million this coming season. The fourth overall pick in the 2011 draft, who turns 32 later this month, has missed 23 of the Bengals' past 24 games and hasn't seen game action since Week 11 of the 2018 season. When healthy, however, Green is the team's clear-cut top wideout, and now presumably past the left ankle issues that sidelined him last season, he'll look forward to building on-field chemistry with Cincinnati's new franchise QB Joe Burrow once training camp practices commence.
