Impact Dillon made his first notable on-field work Thursday since sustaining a neck stinger Week 17 at Minnesota. At the very least, he took part in the team stretch and had his helmet on prior to drills, per Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site. Dillon thus has a chance to reclaim his standing as the team's No. 2 running back behind Aaron Jones (knee/finger) this weekend, something that'll be confirmed, one way or another, about 90 minutes for Saturday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.

Impact After sustaining a broken right thumb in Monday's 24-22 loss to the Giants, Dillon was listed as a non-participant on both of the Packers' first two Week 15 injury reports before returning to practice Friday as a limited participant. Considering Dillon was still wearing a cast on his right hand as of Friday, his ability to catch and secure the ball could be compromised, so it's not overly surprising that the Packers are leaning toward holding him out. Assuming Dillon is included on the Packers' inactive list -- which will be released 90 minutes before the game's 1 p.m. ET kickoff -- Patrick Taylor and Kenyan Drake would be the backup options at running back behind Aaron Jones (knee), who appears to be trending toward a return to the lineup following a three-game absence.

Missing practice due to broken thumb Dillon, who didn't practice Thursday, told Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he sustained a broken thumb during Monday's loss at the Giants.

Impact Silverstein noted that Dillon was wearing a brace on the thumb, and the running back himself said that he and the Packers need to determine whether playing with the issue will be a hinderance and/or exacerbate things going forward. Dillon will have one more chance this week to mix into drills Friday, at which point the team may make rulings on both him and Aaron Jones, the latter of whom is making his way back from a sprained MCL. Jones' on-field work has been capped the last two weeks, but considering he's actually handled reps while Dillon has not, the former seems like the better bet of the two to be available Sunday versus the Buccaneers.
