INJURIES
Deemed questionable for Monday
Council (knee) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Spurs.
Impact
Council is dealing with right knee soreness and could miss his third game since Dec. 6. If the 23-year-old is sidelined, Eric Gordon and Kyle Lowry are candidates for a slight uptick in playing time.

Scores 11 points off bench
Council posted 11 points (2-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds and one steal over 21 minutes during Saturday's 126-99 loss to the Cavaliers.
Impact
The 76ers looked so inefficient on offense that Council ended up tied as the team's second-best scorer -- along with Paul George -- despite shooting just 2-for-7 from the field. Council isn't expected to have a sizable role on offense -- even if he has a decent game off the bench occasionally. Council has scored in double digits in three of his last four games, so he's trending in the right direction and is certainly making the most of the limited minutes he's seeing with the second unit.

Back in rotation
Council notched six points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound and one steal in nine minutes during Monday's 121-108 victory over Charlotte.
Impact
After two straight DNPs via coach's decision, Council has totaled 30 minutes over the last two games, which coincides with Jared McCain's (knee) injury. Caleb Martin (shoulder) should be back in action soon, so Council isn't guaranteed a consistent role, even with McCain done for the season,

Nine points off bench Sunday
Council logged nine points (3-10 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and one assist over 19 minutes during Sunday's 125-99 loss to the Clippers.
Impact
Council is experiencing an uptick in minutes off the bench, but he isn't making the most of the opportunity. He's played double-digit minutes in four of his last six appearances but is averaging a mere 2.8 points per game in that span.

Logs seven minutes Wednesday
Council notched two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one rebound in seven minutes during Wednesday's 105-95 loss to Detroit.
Impact
Council saw limited run again Wednesday, breaking into the rotation for the third time this season. In fact, the only game in which he didn't play was their solitary win against the Pacers. Given he is typically being utilized in games that are non-competitive, Council's fantasy outlook is relatively bleak.

Starting Saturday
Council will enter the starting five in Saturday's preseason game against the Celtics.
Impact
Coach Nick Nurse said Saturday that the 76ers will rest its vets on the second day of a back-to-back road trip, according to Celtics beat reporter Bobby Krivitsky. This will allow Nurse to get a better look at his second unit with Council, KJ Martin, Jared McCain, Jeff Dowtin and Guerschon Yabusele all starting.

Erupts for 29 points
Council had 29 points (9-18 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 6-7 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one block in 28 minutes during Monday's 102-92 win over the Thunder in the Utah Summer League.
Impact
After starting the game 0-for-4 from deep, Council scored 19 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter to secure the victory, displaying plenty of confidence in his shooting ability. This is a nice start to Summer League for Council, and he'll need to do more of the same going forward to have a chance to earn consistent playing time within the Sixers' rotation.

Inks multi-year deal
The 76ers are converting Council's two-way deal to a four-year, $7.4 million NBA contract Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Impact
As a two-way player, Council has split time between the NBA and G League this season. For the 76ers, the 22-year-old guard is averaging 5.5 points and 1.4 rebounds in 9.1 minutes across 31 appearances. Council is now set to remain with Philadelphia for the remainder of 2023-24 and the next three seasons.

Efficient in loss to Boston
Council ended with 16 points (6-8 FG, 4-4 FT), four rebounds and one assist over 19 minutes during Tuesday's 117-99 loss to Boston.
Impact
Council has been finding ways to make his presence felt off the bench for the Sixers, and in a team that's in dire need of a second-unit scoring punch, his contributions have been well-received. Council has scored in double digits in four of his last nine appearances, and while he can't be trusted for sustained numbers due to the incumbent nature of his role, he's making a case to see more minutes in the short-term picture.

Surprises as scoring leader in loss
Council racked up 17 points (4-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 8-8 FT) over 10 minutes during Wednesday's 127-104 loss to the Warriors.
Impact
Council came into Wednesday having played in just nine contests this season while spending most of his time in the G League, so his 17-point outburst (in just 10 minutes) against Golden State came out of nowhere. Granted, most of the rookie's run came in garbage time, but his effort still may have turned some heads, especially given the 76ers' recent struggles in the wake of losing Joel Embiid for an extended period due to a knee injury. Council is shooting 53.8 percent from the field and averaging 31.0 points per 36 minutes in the NBA this season, though the sample size is obviously too small to draw reliable conclusions from.

Inks two-way deal
Council signed a two-way contract with the 76ers on Wednesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Impact
Council joined the 76ers on a two-way deal in late June before being waived by the team Friday. However, he'll be back with the team a few days later. He averaged just 8.3 minutes per game over three preseason appearances and seems unlikely to have much of a role with the parent club early in the 2023-24 season.

Impact
Council was previously signed to a two-way contract with the 76ers. He was hardly used during the preseason, averaging 8.3 minutes across three contests.
