Returns to bench Wednesday
Neto is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's season opener versus the Raptors.
Impact
Neto started and played 23 minutes in last Friday's preseason finale. However, this was likely only the case because Darius Garland was resting. Neto should assume backup point guard duties this season.

Inserted into starting lineup
Neto will start Friday's preseason matchup with the Magic.
Impact
With Darius Garland (rest) out for Friday's preseason finale, Neto gets the nod in the starting lineup. Garland isn't expected to miss the regular-season opener, so Neto will likely return to backup point guard duties next Wednesday against the Raptors.

Headed to Cleveland
Neto and the Cavaliers agreed to terms Friday on a one-year, veteran-minimum contract, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Impact
Neto became the latest addition to the Cavs' roster after Ricky Rubio (knee) and Robin Lopez agreed to deals with the team Friday. He'll presumably operate as one of the main backups to Darius Garland until Rubio is cleared to return from the torn ACL he suffered last season. In 70 games with the Wizards last season, Neto averaged 7.5 points, 3.1 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 19.6 minutes per contest.

Solid off bench
Neto finished with 14 points (5-7 FG, 1-3 3PT, 3-4 FT), one rebound and one assist in Friday's 114-92 loss to New York.
Impact
Neto saw increased action as Washington deals with a plethora of injuries. The veteran guard was efficient with his minutes and provided double-digit points for the first time in almost a month.

Coming off bench Friday
Neto isn't starting Friday's game against the Pistons.
Impact
Neto had started each of the last 19 games, but he was limited to single-digit scoring totals in seven of his last eight appearances. Tomas Satoransky will serve as the starting point guard Friday.

Collects 10 assists in loss
Neto amassed six points (1-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, 10 assists and two steals across 26 minutes during Monday's 115-97 loss to Houston.
Impact
Neto couldn't get anything going in the scoring column, but he was an apt ball distributor in the loss. His 10 assists marked a season-high for Neto, who's had mixed results while filling in for Bradley Beal (wrist).

Dishes seven dimes
Neto ended with eight points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three rebounds, seven assists and four steals over 22 minutes during Monday's 126-112 loss to the Warriors.
Impact
Neto has taken over the role of Washington's starting point guard since the trade deadline, and while he hasn't been able to score in double digits in five of his last six appearances, it's worth noting that he's dished out at least five dimes in three of those contests. His role as a starter might be enough reason to target him in deep formats, but he hasn't done enough in terms of production of late. He's averaging 7.9 points, 4.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game across seven appearances this month.

Effective game manager in loss
Neto posted 12 points (3-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four assists and one rebound in 23 minutes Wednesday in the Wizards' 115-109 loss to the Clippers.
Impact
Neto's availability heading into the week was in question after he exited early in the Wizards' previous game Sunday with a left ankle injury, but the two straight off days provided sufficient time for him to heal up. As usual, Neto maintained his spot in the starting five, but he continues to play under 30 minutes while Wizards head coach Wes Unseld Jr. keeps reserves Ish Smith and Tomas Satoransky involved at point guard. The lack of reliable playing time from game to game coupled with his low-usage role relative to most starting point guards renders Neto a low-end option in 12- and 14-team leagues.

Not on injury report
Neto (ankle) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against the Clippers.
Impact
As expected, Neto will avoid missing any time with the ankle injury that forced him out of Sunday's game against the Pacers. He went through a full practice Tuesday and should be available for a full workload.

Goes through practice
Neto (ankle) took part in Tuesday's practice, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
Impact
This is a great sign for the Wizards after Neto departed Sunday's game with what appeared to be a sprained left ankle. Considering he was able to go through a full session Tuesday, Neto should be on track to play in Wednesday's game at the Clippers.

Departs with left ankle injury
Neto departed Sunday's game against the Pacers with a left ankle injury and will not return, Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington reports.
Impact
Neto rolled his ankle on a drive to the rim during the second quarter and headed back to the locker room for further evaluation. Shortly after, the Wizards announced that Neto will not return to the game. In 11 minutes of action, Neto finished with five points, two assists, one rebound and one steal. Washington is off Monday and Tuesday, so Neto should be considered day-to-day and questionable for Wednesday's game at the Clippers.

Season-high performance in start
Neto had 22 points (9-15 FG, 4-7 3Pt), four rebounds, nine assists and one steal across 36 minutes during Friday's 157-153 double-overtime loss to San Antonio.
Impact
Neto was efficient from the field en route to a season-high 22 points, and he also dished out a career-high nine assists, finishing one short of his first career double-double. The veteran point guard has drawn six consecutive starts since the Wizards traded away Spencer Dinwiddie ahead of the trade deadline. During that stretch, Neto has averaged 14.3 points, 5.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 29.5 minutes. He's poised to continue garnering a large role for Washington during the final month and a half of the season.

Pops for season-high 21
Nero scored 21 points (7-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT) while adding six assists and one rebound in 31 minutes during Thursday's 113-112 win over the Nets.
Impact
With Spencer Dinwiddie traded to the Mavericks and Bradley Beal (wrist) out for the season, Neto got the start at point guard for the first time this season and wound up leading the Wizards in scoring while setting a new season high for himself. Washington did pick up Ish Smith at the deadline to join the backcourt rotation, but Neto figures to remain in the starting five for the time being.

Set to start Thursday
Neto will start Thursday's contest against the Nets, Kareem Copeland reports.
Impact
Neto will likely start to see an increased role with former teammate Spencer Dinwiddie traded to Dallas before the NBA's trade deadline Thursday. The Wizards did acquire Ish Smith to fill their backup point guard void, however, Smith won't play Thursday after just getting traded. Expect Neto to remain the Wizards' starting point guard for the foreseeable future.

Removed from rotation
Neto (coach's decision) didn't see the court Saturday in the Wizards' 115-95 loss to the Grizzlies.
Impact
Neto was cut out of head coach Wes Unseld Jr.'s rotation for the second game in a row, with Washington opting to go with Corey Kispert (25 minutes) and Aaron Holiday (five minutes) as its primary backcourt reserves. The Wizards could elect to break Neto back in on the second unit at some point, but it'll likely take injuries to multiple guards before he sees enough minutes to become a relevant fantasy option in deeper leagues.
