Bamba, Rivers, Suggs all suspended after Magic-Wolves dustup

The NBA has suspended Orlando’s Mo Bamba for four games and Minnesota’s Austin Rivers for three games for their roles in an on-court altercation on Friday night

Mo Bamba - Hit with four-game ban The NBA announced Saturday that Bamba has received a four-game suspension without pay for his role in an on-court altercation that occurred in Friday's 127-120 win over the Timberw...
Impact After being left out of head coach Jamahl Mosley's rotation in Wednesday's loss to the 76ers, Bamba entered the starting five Friday while top center Wendell Carter (foot) was sidelined. Bamba put up 11 points (4-9 FG, 3-7 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 21 minutes before he was ejected late in the third quarter, when he came off the bench and threw punches at Minnesota's Austin Rivers. Rivers also returned with punches and drew a three-game suspension for his actions, while Magic teammate Jalen Suggs was handed a one-game ban for "escalating the altercation," according to the NBA's statement. Provided Carter's injury isn't a long-term concern, Bamba might have find himself right back outside of the rotation Sunday in Charlotte, so his upcoming four-game absence may not affect how Mosley divvies up the minutes among his frontcourt options. Bamba will be eligible to return to action Feb. 13 in Chicago.

Jalen Suggs - Handed one-game ban The NBA announced Saturday that Suggs has received a one-game suspension without pay for his role in an on-court altercation that occurred in Friday's 127-120 win over the Timberwo...
Impact Suggs was one of three players suspended as a result of the incident that occurred with 1:32 remaining in third quarter of Friday's contest. The altercation occurred when the Timberwolves' Austin Rivers verbally addressed the Magic's Mo Bamba, who left the bench and threw punches. Rivers retaliated by throwing punches of his own, and the NBA determined that Suggs escalated the altercation by "aggressively grabbing" Rivers around the neck and pulling him to the floor. Bamba and Rivers received four- and three-game bans, respectively, and Suggs will join Bamba in street clothes for Sunday's contest in Charlotte. Suggs will return to action against the Knicks on Tuesday, when the Magic open a three-game week.

Austin Rivers - Draws three-game suspension The NBA announced Saturday that Rivers has received a three-game suspension without pay for his role in an on-court altercation that occurred in Friday's 127-120 loss to the Magic.
Impact Rivers was ejected late in the third quarter of Friday's contest when he engaged in an altercation with Magic center Mo Bamba, who was on the bench. Bamba left the bench and threw punches at Rivers, with the NBA handing the Magic big man a four-game ban for his actions. Since Rivers retaliated by throwing punches, he drew a three-game suspension of his own. Rivers will begin serving the ban in Sunday's game against the Nuggets and won't be eligible to play until next Friday in Memphis.

Timberwolves vs. Nuggets preview: Ryan Anderson, Jordan McLaughlin questionable Denver, meanwhile, is led by Nikola Jokic, who is averaging a triple-double this season.

Kyle Anderson - Tagged questionable for Sunday Anderson (back) is questionable to play Sunday against the Nuggets.
Impact Anderson had been dealing with back spasms earlier this week, the same injury that forced him to leave Friday's contest against the Magic, and by the nature of the injury, it seems he'll have a tough time being ready to go for Sunday's matchup. The Timberwolves could turn to Taurean Prince and Matt Ryan to cover extra minutes if Anderson can't play Sunday.
