How Thursday's NBA trade deadline could impact Magic The Magic don't have to make any deads ahead of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, but minor ones could be made.

Chuma Okeke - Assigned to G League Okeke (knee) was assigned to the G League's Lakeland Magic on Monday, but there's still no timetable for his return to game action, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Impact Okeke hasn't played since Nov. 21 and underwent arthroscopic knee surgery at the end of November. He was expected to be re-evaluated a month after the procedure, but he remains without a timetable heading into the All-Star break. Despite the bleak outlook, Okeke's status will remain day-to-day until the Magic release an official timeline for his return.

Gary Harris - Offering limited numbers as starter Harris finished Sunday's 119-113 win over the Hornets with eight points (2-4 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal in 28 minutes.
Impact Harris has enjoyed a stable starting role for more than a month, but he's reached 30 minutes on just one occasion and typically sees scant usage as the fourth or fifth option on offense whenever he's on the court. His ability to defend opposing wings looks as though it'll continue to earn him minutes barring any other major additions by the Magic ahead of Thursday's trade deadline, but don't expect Harris' fantasy outlook to improve in any case. He's almost exclusively settled into a role as a spot-up shooter for the Magic; of his 26 field-goal attempts over the past four games, 24 have come from three-point range.

R.J. Hampton - Returns to NBA club Orlando recalled Hampton from the G League's Lakeland Magic on Monday.
Impact Hampton will rejoin the NBA team ahead of Tuesday's game against the Knicks after a brief stint in the G League. He played 31 minutes for Lakeland in Sunday's 122-121 loss to the Mexico City Capitanes, finishing with 30 points (11-23 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds and two assists.

R.J. Hampton - Leads both teams in scoring Sunday Hampton recorded 30 points (11-23 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds and two assists across 31 minutes during Sunday's 122-121 loss to the Capitanes.
Impact Hampton paced both squads with his 30-point scoring effort Sunday, but he was ultimately rather quiet in all other areas. The 6-foot-4 guard is now averaging 22.4 points per game across his nine appearances with Lakeland this season.

Markelle Fultz - Pops for 16 in win Fultz ended Sunday's 119-113 victory over the Hornets with 16 points (8-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound, five assists and three steals over 36 minutes.
Impact The 24-year-old continues to supply modest numbers in the Orlando backcourt. Fultz hasn't made a three-pointer in the last eight games and appears to have put that part of his game on the back burner for the moment, going just 0-for-6 from beyond the arc. Despite the lack of outside shooting, he's averaged 12.4 points, 5.3 assists, 2.3 boards and 1.3 steals over that stretch.

Wendell Carter Jr. - Double-double in return Carter amassed 20 points (7-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 12 rebounds and three assists over 29 minutes during Sunday's 119-113 victory over the Hornets.
Impact The fifth-year center missed Friday's game due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot, but the breather did Carter some good as he scored 20 or more points for just the third time in 16 games since the beginning of January while delivering his 13th double-double of the season. Since the calendar flipped to 2023, the 23-year-old is averaging 14.1 points, 9.3 boards, 2.1 assists and 1.3 threes in 29.1 minutes a contest.
FEBRUARY 5, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Paolo Banchero - Double-double against Hornets Banchero finished with 22 points (6-20 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 10-11 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists and one steal across 35 minutes during Sunday's 119-113 victory over Charlotte.
Impact The rookie posted his first double-double in nearly a month and his eighth of the season. Banchero appears to be wearing down a bit, which isn't a big shock given the 20-year-old's workload so far, and over his last 10 games he's shot just 34.7 percent from the floor and 22.8 percent from three-point range while averaging 17.5 points, 6.3 boards, 3.1 assists, 1.0 threes and 0.9 steals. He isn't likely to get much rest during All-Star Weekend, as Banchero is set to appear in the Rising Stars Game and could yet be named as an Eastern Conference alternate for the All-Star Game itself.

Wendell Carter Jr. - Cleared to play Saturday Carter (foot) will start at center in Sunday's game against the Hornets.
Impact After sitting out Friday's win over the Timberwolves, Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley labeled Carter as a game-time decision leading up to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET opening tip. Ultimately, Carter will be able to play through a right foot plantar fascia strain, though the Magic could monitor his playing time more closely than normal. Before sitting out Friday, Carter had played in 15 consecutive games and averaged 13.7 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 three-pointers in 29.1 minutes per contest.
