INJURIES

Scores in double figures Penda posted 13 points (5-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals over 19 minutes during Thursday's 124-97 loss to Charlotte.
Impact Penda did nearly half of his scoring in garbage time after the Hornets got out to a large lead. He presumably saw more playing time Thursday due to the blowout and the fact that Franz Wagner sat out with an ankle injury. Penda has shown flashes so far in his rookie campaign, but he simply isn't getting enough consistent playing time to roster in most league formats.

Ball back in starting lineup, helps spark fast start as the Hornets beat Magic 124-97

LaMelo Ball returned to Charlotte’s starting lineup and had 16 points, seven assists and six rebounds as the Hornets beat the Orlando Magic 124-97 on Thursday night

Back to bench Penda will come off the bench Thursday against the Grizzlies.
Impact With the Magic getting Wendell Carter and Franz Wagner back in action, this is an expected move for Penda. Over his last three outings, the rookie averaged 32.9 minutes per contest with 9.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.3 blocks and 1.7 three-pointers, but he shot 34.6 percent from the field.
JANUARY 15 • ROTOWIRE
Makes little impact in first start Penda closed with five points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over 30 minutes during Friday's 103-91 loss to Philadelphia.
Impact The rookie forward was making his first career NBA start in a depleted Magic frontcourt, but Penda didn't quite take full advantage of the opportunity. The 2025 second-round pick has seen a big spike in his court time in January with both Franz Wagner (ankle) and Moritz Wagner (knee) sidelined and even Tristan da Silva (back) unavailable Friday, and over the last three games Penda is averaging 9.3 points, 7.3 boards, 2.0 steals, 1.7 blocks, 1.3 assists and 1.3 threes in 29.3 minutes.
JANUARY 10 • ROTOWIRE
Making first career start Penda is starting in Friday's game against the 76ers.
Impact Penda is getting the opportunity to fill the vacant spot opened up by the injured Tristan da Silva (back). Friday is set to be the first career start for the rookie second-rounder, who has averaged 5.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals in 16.9 minutes per tilt over his last 10 games.

Banchero banks in 3-pointer at OT buzzer to lift Magic past Nets, 104-103

Paolo Banchero banked in a 3-pointer from the top of the key at the overtime buzzer to give the Orlando Magic a 104-103 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night

Records career high four steals Penda supplied 10 points (4-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one block and four steals over 27 minutes during Tuesday's 120-112 loss to the Wizards.
Impact Penda played the entire fourth quarter and a career-high 27 minutes as head coach Jahmal Mosley opted to stay with the bench unit after they staged a strong comeback attempt from a 26-point deficit. The 2025 second-round pick notched his fourth game with 10 or more points while setting a career high with four swipes. Penda has bounced between Orlando and the G League this season, but has been impressive in the five games in the NBA where he's logged at least 20 minutes, averaging 10.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.9 blocks across 24 minutes per game.

Surprises with double-double Penda registered 13 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt), 12 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals over 24 minutes during Saturday's 128-127 overtime victory over the Jazz.
Impact Penda is definitely making some waves with the parent club, and his standout performance alongside Paolo Banchero suggests he might see an extended stay with the team. He was originally called up to provide support for that absence, but the 2025 second-round pick is making a case for a contract adjustment.

Nears double-double in win Penda ended with 10 points (3-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds and two assists across 22 minutes during Tuesday's 144-103 win over the 76ers.
Impact Penda has now played in at least 20 minutes in consecutive contests, flirting with double-doubles in both games. While this trend is unlikely to hold long-term, injuries to Jonathan Isaac (back) and Paolo Banchero (groin) may give more opportunities to Penda, and could be an intriguing add for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.
NOVEMBER 26, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Rare source of production in loss Penda ended Sunday's 138-129 loss to the Celtics with 13 points (5-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one block across 23 minutes.
Impact Penda was recalled from the G League's Osceola Magic on Friday, and while he only logged two minutes Saturday, he was much more involved Sunday with Wendell Carter (ankle), Goga Bitadze (ankle) and Paolo Banchero (groin) sidelined. Penda was averaging 2.4 points and 2.0 rebounds in seven NBA appearances entering the day, so he's unlikely to be worth rostering once the frontcourt returns to health.
NOVEMBER 24, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Recalled from G League The Magic recalled Penda from the G League's Osceola Magic on Friday.
Impact The move perhaps signals that Paolo Banchero's (groin) status is in serious doubt for Saturday's game against the Knicks. That said, it's also possible Penda is joining Orlando only to practice as opposed to being an active player as depth for the NBA club this weekend.
NOVEMBER 21, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Assigned to G League Orlando assigned Penda to the G League's Osceola Magic on Tuesday.
Impact Even with some injuries in Orlando, Penda hasn't been able to break through Orlando's rotation. In seven appearances at the NBA level, he's averaging 6.7 minutes per contest.
NOVEMBER 18, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Sees 17 minutes off bench Penda amassed three points (1-2 FG, 1-2 FT), two rebounds and one assist across 17 minutes during Thursday's 123-107 win over Charlotte.
Impact The No. 32 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Penda saw his largest workload of the campaign in what was his third appearance. Orlando's frontcourt rotation is stacked, so Penda will likely have to accept a minor role for the foreseeable future.
OCTOBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Posts six points in preseason debut Penda (rest) recorded six points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, one steal and one block across 15 minutes in Saturday's 126-118 preseason win over the Heat.
Impact Penda made his preseason debut after sitting out the team's Summer League finale due to rest purposes. The 2025 second-round pick isn't guaranteed to crack the rotation immediately, but he could see the floor if injuries arise within the team's forward group. The 20-year-old played for Le Mans in France during the 2024-25 campaign, where he averaged 10.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals per game across 30 appearances.

Sitting out Friday Penda (rest) is out for Friday's Summer League game against the Mavericks, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Impact Penda has sat out for rest purposes earlier in the Summer League as well, so it's not a surprise to see the Magic continue to manage his reps during exhibition play. The 2025 second-rounder has started three contests this summer, averaging 11.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 27.5 minutes per game.
