Pandemic Basketball begins, with some comforts of home

Set to arrive in Orlando soon Porter is expected to arrive in Orlando on Wednesday, the Denver Post reports.

Impact Porter had been absent from the rest of the team, but he's expected to begin his mandatory quarantine period on Wednesday, so he's on track to be ready before the start of seeding games on July 30. However, there's a good chance Porter could miss most, if not all, of the Nuggets' three scrimmages -- the first of which arrives Wednesday afternoon.

Arriving Sunday in Orlando Harris (undisclosed) and Torrey Craig (undisclosed) are expected to arrive Sunday evening in Orlando, Kendra Andrews of The Athletic reports.

Impact Both players will need to complete a 48-hour quarantine period upon their arrival before being cleared to join team workouts. Michael Porter, Monte Morris and PJ Dozier remain away from the team for unspecified reasons. Assuming everything goes smoothly, Harris should have enough practice time to prepare for Denver's first game against Miami on Aug. 1.

Absent in Orlando Porter has yet to arrive in Orlando and remains absent from the Nuggets' workouts at the Walt Disney World complex, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.

Impact Along with Porter, Gary Harris, Monte Morris, PJ Dozier and Torrey Craig have yet to join the Nuggets due to unspecified reasons, while star center Nikola Jokic (illness) -- who is believed to have fully recovered from an earlier bout with COVID-19 -- remains stuck in Serbia awaiting a flight to the United States. None of the missing players have formally opted out of the NBA season restart, so the expectation is that all will eventually arrive in Orlando. If Porter's absence lingers into next week, however, his status for the Nuggets' first game in Orlando on Aug. 1 versus the Heat could become more of a question mark.
