Tre Donaldson - Starting against Timberwolves Donaldson is in the starting lineup for Saturday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Impact The Heat are resting their projected starters for the regular-season opener against the Timberwolves on Oct. 21, meaning Donaldson is one of the non-regulars who will get the chance to start. He's competing for a backup role in the backcourt as the regular season approaches.
OCTOBER 10 • ROTOWIRE
Nick Richards - Starting Saturday Richards will start in Saturday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Impact Richards will get the start with Bam Adebayo (rest) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (rest) taking the night off. There should also be additional minutes available for Bobby Portis.
OCTOBER 10 • ROTOWIRE
Nikola Jovic - Starting Saturday Jovic is in the starting lineup for Saturday's preseason matchup with the Timberwolves, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Impact Simone Fontecchio, Tre Donaldson, Nikola Jovic, Pelle Larson and Nick Richards will join Jovic in the first unit for Saturday's exhibition with the regular starters all resting. In Jovic's lone start last season, he produced nine points, three rebounds, two triples, one steal and three turnovers in 23 minutes.
OCTOBER 10 • ROTOWIRE
Simone Fontecchio - Starting Saturday Fontecchio will start in Saturday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Impact Fontecchio is getting a spot start, with all the usual Miami starters receiving a rest day. Through nine starts last season, Fontecchio averaged 11.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.4 triples per contest.
OCTOBER 10 • ROTOWIRE
Pelle Larsson - Available and starting Larsson (illness) is available and starting in Saturday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Impact Larsson was questionable for this preseason contest, but the guard will suit up and start in a game where the Heat will rest most of their expected starters for the regular-season opener. Larsson averaged 11.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in the 2025-26 regular season, his second year in the NBA.
OCTOBER 10 • ROTOWIRE
Bam Adebayo - Not playing Saturday Adebayo won't be available for Saturday's preseason game against the Timberwolves due to rest, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
Impact Adebayo is one of several projected starters who won't be available for the Heat in this preseason contest due to rest. The star big man could return to face Brooklyn on Wednesday, as the Heat are taking a cautious approach to have him fully available for the regular-season opener against the Timberwolves on Oct. 21.
OCTOBER 10 • ROTOWIRE
Andrew Wiggins - Resting Saturday Wiggins (rest) won't play in Saturday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
Impact Wiggins will skip Saturday's exhibition for maintenance reasons, but he should return for Wednesday's preseason game against Brooklyn. Wiggins' absence should open up minutes for Myron Gardner and Simone Fontecchio.
OCTOBER 10 • ROTOWIRE
Giannis Antetokounmpo - Won't play vs. Minnesota Antetokounmpo (rest) won't be available for Saturday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
Impact Antetokounmpo is one of several projected starters who won't be available for this preseason matchup. This is likely a rest-related move in order to have Antetokounmpo available for the regular-season opener on Oct. 21 against the Timberwolves, especially since he was limited to just 36 regular-season games with the Bucks in the 2025-26 regular season. His next chance to play will come against Brooklyn on Wednesday.
OCTOBER 10 • ROTOWIRE
Klay Thompson - Resting Saturday Thompson (rest) is out for Saturday's preseason game against the Timberwolves, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
Impact The 36-year-old vet will receive a maintenance day Saturday, but he should be back in action for Wednesday's preseason meeting with the Nets. Tim Hardaway should be more involved in the rotation Saturday with Thompson unavailable.
OCTOBER 10 • ROTOWIRE
Davion Mitchell - Resting Saturday Mitchell (rest) won't suit up for Saturday's exhibition against the Timberwolves, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
Impact The Heat will be resting their entire starting lineup for Saturday's preseason game, so expect ample minutes for guys like Ryan Conwell and Bez Mbeng. Mitchell should return for Wednesday's exhibition against the Nets.

Nick Richards - Grabs nine boards in win Richards finished with five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, one steal and one block in 15 minutes during Thursday's 128-118 preseason victory over New Orleans.
Impact Richards made his presence felt on the glass, collecting nine rebounds despite playing fewer than 15 minutes. The veteran center also contributed defensively with a steal and a block, providing Miami with productive frontcourt minutes. With Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo occupying prominent roles, Richards figures to serve primarily as a reserve big man, limiting his fantasy appeal outside deeper formats.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Tre Donaldson - Effective in exhibition Donaldson recorded 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt), one rebound and two assists in 15 minutes during Thursday's 128-118 preseason victory over New Orleans.
Impact Donaldson made an encouraging impression in limited action, shooting efficiently from the field while connecting on two of his three attempts from beyond the arc. The rookie guard will look to build on the performance as he competes for playing time in Miami's backcourt, though his path to a consistent regular-season role remains uncertain.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Bobby Portis Jr. - Struggles in win Portis finished with 11 points (4-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 20 minutes during Thursday's 128-118 preseason victory over New Or...
Impact Portis struggled with his shot but contributed across several categories, particularly on the glass and defensively. The veteran forward received a relatively substantial workload in his first preseason appearance with Miami, though his role alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo could limit his opportunities compared to previous seasons. Portis should remain a capable source of points and rebounds when given sufficient playing time.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Simone Fontecchio - Scores six points in preseason Fontecchio finished with six points (2-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds and one assist in 14 minutes during Thursday's 128-118 preseason victory over New Orleans.
Impact Fontecchio struggled from beyond the arc, connecting on just one of his four attempts. The veteran forward will look to provide Miami with perimeter shooting and frontcourt depth, although competition for minutes could limit his fantasy relevance heading into the regular season.
