GAME LOG

INJURIES

Ruled out for Saturday Porzingis will not play in Saturday's game against the Clippers due to a left ankle sprain, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
Impact Porzingis landed on Domantas Sabonis' foot Wednesday, and while he was able to finish the game, his ankle may have flared up after the fact. It remains to be seen if Porzingis will be back in time for Monday's game against the Lakers on Christmas. Sam Hauser (heel) is questionable and Luke Kornet (adductor) is out Saturday, so it's likely that Al Horford plays a significant role.
DECEMBER 23, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Returns with solid evening Porzingis finished Wednesday's 144-119 victory over Sacramento with 24 points (7-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 7-8 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and six blocks over 29 minutes.
Impact Although Porzingis finished one rebound shy of a double-double, he used his floor-stretching ability with great mid-range and perimeter shooting to help the Celtics blow out the Kings. His calf injury did not seem to be an issue, and he carried a full load with Al Horford (rest) taking a seat.

Good to go Wednesday Porzingis (calf) isn't listed on the Celtics' injury report for Wednesday's game against the Kings.
Impact Porzingis sat out the first half of the Celtics' back-to-back set Tuesday, allowing Al Horford to start at center in the overtime loss to Golden State. However, Horford is now resting Wednesday, so Porzingis will return to his usual role. With Jayson Tatum (ankle) out, Porzingis may see increased offensive usage versus Sacramento.
DECEMBER 20, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out Tuesday Porzingis (calf/injury management) will not play Tuesday against Golden State.
Impact Porzingis will sit the front half of Boston's back-to-back set. Luke Kornet (adductor) remains out as well, so Al Horford, Neemias Queta and a rotation of Boston's bench forwards will absorb his minutes.
DECEMBER 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Game-time call vs. Golden State Porzingis (calf) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Warriors, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
Impact The Celtics have added Porzingis to the injury report with a tag of left calf strain injury management, so the team is likely exercising caution with the big man following Sunday's matchup against the Magic. Boston should have a better idea of Porzingis' availability after he goes through morning shootaround and pregame warmups.
DECEMBER 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Records double-double in return Porzingis contributed 15 points (6-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 10 rebounds, one block and one steal in 29 minutes during Sunday's 114-97 victory over Orlando.
Impact Porzingis returned to the court Sunday after missing the previous game with left calf tightness, leading all Celtics in rebounds while finishing as one of five players with a double-digit point total in a double-double outing. Porzingis has tallied a double-double in three games this season, including in two of his last three outings.
DECEMBER 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Good to go against Orlando Porzingis (calf) isn't on the injury report for Sunday's game versus the Magic.
Impact Porzingis will return to action Sunday after missing the previous game with left calf tightness. Porzingis will likely replace Neemias Queta as Boston's starting center against Orlando.
DECEMBER 16, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Officially ruled out Porzingis (calf) won't play in Friday's game versus the Magic, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
Impact Porzingis has been downgraded from doubtful to out Friday due to left calf tightness. With Al Horford (rest) out, Neemias Queta is left as Boston's only healthy big man. Porzingis' next chance to suit up is Sunday's rematch with Orlando.
DECEMBER 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Unlikely to play Friday Porzingis is doubtful for Friday's game against the Magic due to left calf tightness, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports.
Impact Porzingis missed a four-game stretch from Nov. 26-Dec. 4 due to a calf injury but has appeared in three straight contests since then. However, he'll likely take a seat for the second night of a back-to-back set to manage the lingering injury. Porzingis should be able to return for Sunday's rematch against Orlando. Al Horford (rest) and Luke Kornet (hip) are both out, so if Porzingis joins them on the sidelines, Boston will have to play a lot of smaller lineups, making Lamar Stevens, Oshae Brissett, Neemias Queta and Sam Hauser candidates for increased playing time.
DECEMBER 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Cleared to play Thursday Porzingis (calf) is available for Thursday's game against Cleveland, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports.
Impact Porzingis was probable ahead of Thursday's matchup and will officially be able to suit up in the first half of a back-to-back set. Over his last two appearances, he's averaged 21.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 30.5 minutes per game.
DECEMBER 14, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Likely to play Thursday Porzingis (calf) is listed as probable for Thursday's game versus the Cavaliers, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
Impact Despite dealing with a nagging calf issue, Porzingis is expected to suit up for the first leg of Thursday's back-to-back against Cleveland. The 28-year-old big man saw a full workload, tallying 21 points and 10 rebounds in 32 minutes during Tuesday's contest.
DECEMBER 14, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Scores efficiently in return Porzingis (calf) supplied 21 points (7-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, two steals and one assist across 29 minutes in Friday's 133-123 win over the Knicks.
Impact Though he didn't provide much production in the rebounds and blocks categories like he typically does, Porzingis turned in an otherwise stellar fantasy line in his return from a four-game absence due to a left calf strain. He took back his spot in the starting five from Al Horford and finished right around his season average in minutes (30.2 per game). Fantasy managers who had any reservations about activating Porzingis for Friday's game should feel more comfortable doing so heading into the Celtics' upcoming four-game week that kicks off with a home matchup Tuesday versus the Cavaliers.

Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis returns from calf injury to face Knicks

Boston Celtics forward Kristaps Porzingis returned Friday night to face the New York Knicks after missing four games because of a strained left calf
DECEMBER 9, 2023 • Associated Press
Won't face minutes restriction Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said Porzingis will have no minutes restriction and is good to go for Friday's game versus the Knicks, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
Impact Porzingis will return to action Friday after missing the previous four games with a calf injury. Porzingis is expected to replace Al Horford in the starting lineup and play close to his season average of 30.3 minutes per contest.
DECEMBER 8, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Available Friday Porzingis (calf) is available for Friday's game against the Knicks, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
Impact Porzingis missed the last four games due to a calf injury but fully participated in practice Wednesday and will return to game action a few days later. Over 12 appearances in November, he averaged 18.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 30.2 minutes per game, but it's unclear whether he'll face a minutes limit following his absence.
DECEMBER 8, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Probable for Friday Porzingis (calf) is questionable for Friday's game against the Knicks, Marc D'Amico of the Celtics' official site reports.
Impact Porzingis fully participated in Wednesday's practice session and will likely put an end to his four-game absence Friday. It's not yet clear whether the 28-year-old will face any sort of restrictions if he's officially given the green light against New York.
DECEMBER 7, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Logs full practice Wednesday Porzingis (calf) was a full participant during Wednesday's practice and participated in a 5-on-5 scrimmage with coaches following the session, Souichi Terada of The Springfield Rep...
Impact Porzingis has missed four straight contests, including Boston's disappointing loss to the Pacers during the quarterfinals of the In-Season Tournament on Monday. However, the talented big man may return to game action soon. His next chance will come Friday versus the Knicks, but his official status for that contest likely won't surface until Thursday afternoon.
DECEMBER 6, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Could return this week Porzingis (calf) could return to action as soon as this week, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Impact Porzingis will miss his fourth straight game Monday against the Pacers, but there is increasing optimism about his progress. If the Celtics win Monday, Porzingis could potentially return as soon as Thursday in Vegas for the Final Four of the In-Season Tournament.
DECEMBER 4, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out for Monday Porzingis (calf) will be inactive Monday against Indiana, Jay King of The Athletic reports.
Impact Porzingis will miss his fourth consecutive game due to a left calf strain. Although missing Monday's In-Season Tournament Quarterfinal game against the Pacers marks a key absence, the big-picture timing of Poraingis injury is rather fortuitous since the Celtics next non-tournament game is Dec. 12 against Cleveland. Al Horford continues to fill in admirably while Sam Hauser has stepped into a large rotation role as well.
DECEMBER 3, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Hopeful to return for Tournament Porzingis said Tuesday that he's feeling good and making progress in his recovery from a left calf strain, Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston reports. "I think, very soon. Very so...
Impact Porzingis' comments essentially rule him out for Friday's game against the 76ers, but he seems to be leaving the door open for a return to the lineup Monday, when the Celtics travel to Indiana to face the Pacers in an In-Season Tournament Quarterfinal game. Head coach Joe Mazzulla said Nov. 26 that Porzingis will be re-evaluated in about a week, so expect the team to provide an update on the big man's status at some point over the weekend. While Porzingis has been sidelined for Boston's last two games, Al Horford has stepped in as the team's starting center, while Luke Kornet has entered the rotation as Horford's primary backup.

Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis out at least a week, but MRI on left calf shows no serious damage - The Boston Globe Porzingis is not only the Celtics’ third-leading scorer but the team’s best rim protector.
NOVEMBER 26, 2023 • BOSTONGLOBE.COM
Will miss multiple games Coach Joe Mazzulla said Sunday that Porzingis (calf) will be re-evaluated "after a week or so," Brian Robb of The Springfield Republican reports.
Impact Porzingis left Friday's 113-96 loss to the Magic and was ruled out for Sunday's game versus the Hawks after undergoing an MRI. The injury is not expected to be a long-term issue, but the sharpshooting big man will miss at least a few games. Mazzulla's one-week timeline would put Porzingis on track to return for the Knockout Rounds of the In-Season Tournament, which starts Dec. 4. In Porzingis' absence, Al Horford will presumably slide into the starting lineup, but Sam Hauser and Luke Kornet are also candidates for increased bench roles.
