Impact Walker dealt with a knee injury earlier in the season but appeared in 13 of the Knicks' 15 games ahead of the All-Star break. He has one year remaining on his contract following the 2021-22 campaign, and his shutdown will allow for Walker and the Knicks to explore potential trades during the offseason. Derrick Rose (ankle) is expected to return to the Knicks' lineup Feb. 25 and should serve as the team's primary point guard, while Immanuel Quickley, Alec Burks and Ryan Arcidiacono should also see additional work in the backcourt. After signing with the Knicks in August, Walker made 37 appearances and averaged 11.6 points, 3.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 25.6 minutes per game.

The Knicks' decision to remove him from the injury report ahead of Tuesday's contest implies that Walker's absence Monday was truly a rest day, rather than the result of a flare-up of his arthritic knee.
