The swingman agreed to a two-way deal with the Jazz this offseason, and he'll offer the club's young core a veteran presence on the wing. Okogie did make 32 regular-season starts for Houston in 2025-26, his most since 2020-21 with Minnesota, and will battle for an Opening Night rotation spot at training camp.

Just misses double-double in start Okogie closed Thursday's 113-102 win over the 76ers with nine points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt), 11 rebounds, two assists and one steal over 21 minutes.

Impact Making his first start since Feb. 5, Okogie just missed recording his second double-double of the season, and the sixth of his career. The 27-year-old wing has filled a more consistent role in the Rockets' rotation in April, averaging 13.6 minutes over the last five games while supplying 4.4 points, 3.4 boards, 1.0 assists and 0.6 steals.

Entering starting lineup Okogie is starting Thursday's game against the 76ers, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.

Impact Okogie will draw a rare start Thursday with the Rockets electing to shake up the first unit. Reed Sheppard will shift to a bench role as a result of the lineup change.

APRIL 9 • ROTOWIRE

Phased out of rotation Okogie (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Friday in the Rockets' 119-109 win over the Grizzlies.

Impact After playing single-digit minutes in four of the Rockets' previous five contests, Okogie finally dropped out of the rotation entirely Friday along with Dorian Finney-Smith while head coach Ime Udoka went with Tari Eason and Jae'Sean Tate as the team's reserve options at forward. Okogie's declining role has come while the 27-year-old has shot just 40 percent from the field since the calendar flipped to 2026.

MARCH 28 • ROTOWIRE

Non-factor again in loss Okogie racked up zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one rebound in two minutes during Monday's 132-124 loss to Chicago.

Impact Okogie has been mostly a non-factor this season, despite the fact that, for a period of time, he was inserted into the starting lineup. He has now appeared in 16 straight games, averaging 3.3 points and 0.8 three-pointers in 12.6 minutes per contest. While the Rockets seem destined to make the playoffs, depth could certainly be an issue when it matters most.

MARCH 24 • ROTOWIRE

Full stat line off bench Okogie recorded 12 points (5-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 0-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 24 minutes during Wednesday's 129-93 loss to Denver.

Impact Wednesday's game got out of hand during the second half, allowing Okogie to see more playing time off the bench. The 24 minutes were his most since Feb. 25, and considering Okogie got single-digit minutes in four of his prior six games to Wednesday, his fantasy appeal remains muted overall.

MARCH 12 • ROTOWIRE

Makes impact from second unit Okogie provided 14 points (5-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds and two steals across 24 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 128-97 win over the Kings.

Impact The 27-year-old wing saw his biggest workload in February during the rout, and scored in double digits for the first time this month as a result. Okogie has been struggling to hang onto a spot in the Rockets' rotation, but with Jae'Sean Tate (knee) sidelined into March and Amen Thompson (quadriceps) banged up as well, minutes should be a little easier to come by in the short term.

Removed from rotation Okogie (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Thursday in the Rockets' 105-101 loss to the Hornets.

Impact For the second time in three games, head coach Ime Udoka dropped the struggling Okogie from his nine-man rotation and instead opted to go with Jae'Sean Tate for the final spot. The two DNPs were the first of the season for Okogie, who has fallen out of favor after shooting just 39.7 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from three-point range since the calendar flipped to 2026.

FEBRUARY 20 • ROTOWIRE

Comes up empty in loss Okogie recorded no counting stats in 10 minutes during Wednesday's 105-102 loss to the Clippers.

Impact Okogie did his best Tony Snell impersonation, failing to record a stat despite playing 10 minutes. While he has been able to remain in the rotation, Okogie rarely contributes in the box score. In 52 games this season, he has averaged just 5.2 points and 0.9 steals in 19.6 minutes per game.

FEBRUARY 12 • ROTOWIRE

Coming off bench Saturday Okogie is not in the Rockets' starting lineup against the Thunder on Saturday, Varun Shankar of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Impact Okogie started in Thursday's loss to the Hornets but will revert to a reserve role Saturday after Tari Eason (lower leg) was cleared to return. Okogie has started in eight of the Rockets' last 14 games, and over that span he has averaged 4.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.9 threes and 0.9 steals over 21.6 minutes per game.

FEBRUARY 7 • ROTOWIRE

Starting Thursday Okogie is in the Rockets' starting lineup against the Hornets on Thursday, Lachard Binkley of SI.com reports.

Impact Okogie has come off the bench in the Rockets' last three games, but he'll make his 29th start of the season Thursday due to the uncertainty over whether Tari Eason (lower leg) will play. Okogie has averaged 3.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists over 18.6 minutes per game since Jan. 1.
