Green absence from Warriors 'mutual decision' after punch

Draymond Green will be away from the defending champion Golden State Warriors indefinitely

Will start Sunday Kuminga will get the start in place of Draymond Green (personal) on Saturday versus the Lakers, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports.

Impact Kuminga logged a team-high 26 minutes in the preseason opener versus the Wizards in Japan and could be in line for a bigger workload during Sunday's clash as well. It's unclear when Green will rejoin the club, though he's not expected to miss significant regular-season time.

Impact Kuminga came off the bench for Friday's contest, but he managed to lead the team in minutes and finished second in plus-minus (plus-12) behind only James Wiseman (plus-14). Kuminga's performance wasn't flawless, however, as he also recorded four turnovers. The forward should continue to be a quality depth piece for the Warriors in 2022-23 after several strong performances in Summer League.

Another strong Summer League game Kuminga posted 29 points (11-22 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-8 FT), two rebounds, one steal and one block in 27 minutes during Tuesday's Summer League loss to the Celtics.

Impact Kuminga has posted 57 points across his past two Summer League appearances. The cherry on top of the second-year pro's performance was that he committed only one turnover. It's possible Golden State will consider sitting him out of caution for the remainder of exhibition play.
