Traded to Suns Landale was traded from the Hawks to the Suns on Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Impact Landale ended up on the Hawks in the trade between Atlanta and San Antonio that resulted in Dejounte Murray heading to the Eastern Conference. He played 54 games as a 26-year-old rookie last season and averaged 4.9 points and 2.6 rebounds in 10.9 minutes. He may not be an every-game player for the Suns, though that could depend on whether Deandre Ayton returns.

Impact Landale missed each of San Antonio's previous two games due to a right foot sprain, but he was able to log 28 minutes -- his most in nearly a month -- Saturday against Golden State. The backup center tallied his first double-digit rebound performance since he pulled down 11 boards against the Clippers on Jan. 15. Landale entered Saturday having played fewer than 10 minutes in eight of his previous 14 contests, so he may not have a large role in the Spurs' play-in game(s) during the coming week as long as Jakob Poeltl (back) is able to play.

Impact Landale was electric in the loss, turning in easily the best game of his young career. With Jakob Poeltl sidelined due to a back injury, Landale stepped into a much larger role despite still coming off the bench. While a performance like this will certainly turn some heads, we do need to factor in that the team was without three of its regular starters. For now, managers in standard leagues should just add Landale to their watchlist, just in case he can build some momentum down the stretch.

Impact The absence of top center Jakob Poeltl (back) for the second leg of a back-to-back set created an opening in the rotation for Landale, who hadn't seen the court in any of the Spurs' last three contests. Even after San Antonio shipped out two other big men in Thaddeus Young and Drew Eubanks prior to the Feb. 10 trade deadline to reduce its crowding in the frontcourt, Landale still remains behind Poeltl and Zach Collins in the pecking order at center.
