Impact Sochan will finish the night scoreless (0-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt) with one rebound in seven minutes of action. Stanley Johnson, Isaiah Roby and Doug McDermott will likely split his vacated minutes for the rest of the contest. Sochan's next chance to play will come Friday against the 76ers.

Impact Sochan entered the NBA with a reputation as a defense-first player, but his production on the offensive end has made him a popular fantasy pickup of late. After delivering a career-best 30-point performance his last time out against the Suns on Saturday, Sochan followed up with another efficient scoring outing while also dishing out five assists for the second game in a row. His lacking output in the defensive categories of late (0.4 steals and 0.1 blocks per game over his last eight appearances) has been disappointing, but Sochan should have the opportunity to continue shouldering more responsibility on the offensive end while the Spurs are lacking in secondary scoring options behind Keldon Johnson.

Though inconsistent, the rookie out of Baylor has shown signs of strong fantasy potential all year long and figures to continue receiving opportunities for a rebuilding Spurs squad.

However, a bruised quad suffered in Wednesday's loss to the Lakers will likely break his streak of 22 straight appearances. Impact Sochan left Anthony Davis flat-footed a few times in the loss, as the rookie slashed his way in for a couple of dunks. It wasn't his best shooting performance, but Sochan traded in his sharpshooting for a standout night on defense. The first-round pick has already demonstrated how deadly he is from the perimeter, and Wednesday's showing indicated that he may be putting it all together on a more consistent basis.

Impact Sochan has taken a back seat on the offensive end for most of his rookie season, but he's now put up double-digit field-goal attempts for three straight games and is converting them at a 51.5 percent clip. An unsustainable 6-for-7 mark from three-point range has fueled some of that success, however, so fantasy managers may not want to rely on Sochan serving as a consistent source of secondary scoring behind Keldon Johnson. Sochan's recent hot run should at least put him on the radar for a pickup in 12-team category leagues. Even if his shooting cools off, his minutes at least look safe while the 14-33 Spurs prioritize his development.

Impact Keldon Johnson and Tre Jones have thus far benefited the most while Devin Vassell (knee) has been out for eight straight games with an injury that will sideline him at least through the All-Star break, but a tertiary role in the Spurs' scoring attack is there for the taking if Sochan wants to claim it. Though he averaged just 7.2 points per game on 35.3 percent shooting from the field during the first six games of Vassell's absence, Sochan has reached the mid-teens in points in both the past two contests. He's achieved his scoring production mostly on the back of elevated efficiency (60 percent shooting from the field), so Sochan will need to increase his usage on the offensive end in order to maintain the uptick in scoring before regression with his shooting inevitably sets in.
