Back with Wizards Smith and Vernon Carey were traded from the Hornets to the Wizards on Thursday in exchange for Montrezl Harrell, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Impact Smith inked a two-year deal with Charlotte in August after he spent the previous two seasons with the Wizards, but he'll now return to Washington. He failed to carve out a consistent role with the Hornets, as he averaged 4.5 points and 2.6 assists in 13.8 minutes per game with the team. The 33-year-old had a slightly more prominent role during his stint with the Wizards and will attempt to reclaim some of that production now that he's back with the team.

Impact Smith saw additional run down the stretch as the Hornets shifted into training mode after a disastrous third quarter. Smith has proven his ability to put up numbers when afforded a few extra minutes. Unfortunately, his path to playing time is littered with obstacles, leaving him off the radar in most fantasy leagues.

Explodes for 22 points off bench Smith notched 22 points (10-12 FG, 2-3 3Pt), two rebounds, five assists and one block in 26 minutes during Friday's 117-114 victory over the Lakers.
Impact After three straight scoreless outings, Smith exploded for a season-high 22 points off the bench. The backup point guard also dished out five-plus assists for the seventh time this season. With Kelly Oubre (ankle) and Gordon Hayward (COVID-19 protocols) sidelined, Smith was part of a three-guard lineup to close out the game and nailed a couple of big shots to thwart the Lakers' potential comeback. Oubre and Hayward are expected to be back in the lineup soon, so Smith's fantasy potential will likely remain limited moving forward.
