Timetable updated to 2-3 weeks Gordon's (ankle) timetable for a return has been revised from one to two weeks, to two to three weeks, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Gordon's ankle is reportedly swollen and tender, but that's to be expected. Initially, it seemed like Gordon might be able to make a return during the seeding games, but now that appears less likely. It's possible he suits up for the final contest if he lands on the early end of his timetable. In his stead, Danuel House will start, while Ben McLemore, Jeff Green and Austin Rivers are all candidates to see extra run.

Impact Coach Mike D'Antoni's initial estimate of "a few days" was apparently way off base, as Gordon could be sidelined until mid-August. At the earliest, Gordon may able to take the court Aug. 4 against the Trail Blazers, but the Rockets don't have too much of a reason to rush him back unless they find themselves in danger of falling to the seventh seed in the Western Conference and potentially playing the Clippers in the first round of the playoffs. After Gordon exiting the scrimmage in the first half, Ben McLemore opened the second half with the starting five, so he could end up serving as the primary replacement for the former. Danuel House is another candidate to enter the starting five in Gordon's stead.

Impact It appears Gordon has avoided anything too serious, and it's possible we see him take the court again early in the seeding games. More information could arrive in the coming days regarding a specific timeline. He hasn't yet been formally ruled out for Friday's opener against the Mavericks. If he ends up sidelined for that game and any future contests, Austin Rivers and Ben McLemore should see extra usage.

Helped off court with ankle injury Gordon was helped off the court after suffering an ankle injury during Tuesday's scrimmage against Boston, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact Gordon landed on a Celtics' players foot during the second quarter and rolled his left ankle. The veteran had to be helped off the court by teammates, and the Rockets have confirmed that he won't return to the scrimmage. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN adds that Gordon will undergo an X-ray on the ankle. At this point, Gordon should be considered very much questionable, if not closer to doubtful, for Friday's opening seeding matchup against the Mavericks.

Impact On a night when Eric Gordon, Russell Westbrook, P.J. Tucker, and Danuel House combined to shoot 4-of-24 from beyond the arc, McLemore stepped up to hit six of his seven three-point attempts off the bench. McLemore also added three rebounds in 24 minutes of action.

Impact There's no question that Gordon has been a valuable contributor when Harden and/or Westbrook have sat for rest or injury, but the role he saw Friday at the wing is probably unsustainable. Danuel House and Ben McLemore provide much-needed height and more imposing inside presences, something Gordon can't offer. Furthermore, Robert Covington is one of the best defensive players in the game today, and to place Gordon ahead of this trio is unlikely moving forward.
