Impact Smith will serve a brief stint with the team before returning for the Heat's matchup with Memphis on Monday. Smith has been called to action with the Heat plagued by injuries lately, allowing him to see 15 or more minutes in two consecutive contests in late November. However, when the Heat are healthy Smith will not factor into the rotation.

Decent showing across board Smith amassed five points (2-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 21 minutes during Sunday's 106-98 win over Atlanta.
Impact Smith saw action in his second straight game since signing a two-way contract with the Heat on Friday, and he's shouldered a decent workload in each contest. While he's unlikely to have much of a scoring impact, he's packed the stat sheet in both matchups, registering at least one rebound, assist, steal and block. Miami was once again without Jimmy Butler (knee) on Sunday, while Gabe Vincent (knee) did not play despite being listed as available prior to tip-off.

Impact Smith's two-way roster spot will be used on Orlando Robinson, who joins Miami while the team has a greater need for frontcourt depth while Omer Yurtseven (ankle) is out indefinitely. Smith only made one appearance for Miami, logging six minutes and scoring two points with one rebound and a steal in a 119-98 win at Portland on Oct 26.

Inks two-way deal with Miami Smith signed a two-way contract with Miami on Wednesday, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reports.
Impact Smith signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the team back in late September, and now the Heat are converting his contract into a two-way deal. Smith played for the Heat's G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, last year.

Impact Smith's signing puts the Heat's roster at the preseason max of 20 players. He appeared in 10 games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce and averaged 8.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.2 steals in 27.5 minutes last season. While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinelbelieves Smith will likely return to the Skyforce.
