With Jalen Duren (two games) and Isaiah Stewart (seven games) receiving suspensions for their roles in a brawl that occurred in Monday's win over the Hornets, Paul Reed will likely step into a high-minute role as the Pistons' starting center, but Smith could be part of the rotation as Reed's backup until Duren is back in the fold.

Suspended for two games Duren has been suspended for two games following his participation in an altercation during Monday's matchup with Charlotte, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Impact Duren joins teammate Isaiah Stewart as the two Pistons to be suspended following the scuffle that took place involving Miles Bridges and Moussa Diabate, but his suspension sentence was the shortest out of the four. With Duren out for two games and Stewart for seven, Paul Reed could take the reins at center while the two are suspended, with Isaac Jones potentially even seeing playing time.
