Impact Watson has also been absent from practice due to minor hamstring discomfort, so it wasn't surprising to see him sit out Friday's preseason opener. His next chance to suit up will be Sunday's preseason rematch with Boston.

Impact Pickett dealt with left groin soreness during the Summer League which held him out of the squad's final matchup. However, the 24-year-old is back in game action for the preseason and will likely compete for a spot in the end of the rotation during the regular season.

Impact With the departure of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in the offseason, Braun will get the first crack at the starting lineup in Denver's preseason opener after making just four starts last year. Braun is expected to compete with Julian Strawther for the starting backcourt job next to Jamal Murray.

Impact Murray will likely continue to play limited minutes throughout the preseason as Denver wishes to give increased playing time to its bench units. However, Murray should return to a full workload once the regular season rolls around.

Impact With 19 players able to suit up, coach Mike Malone said Friday that the starting unit of Porter, Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray will receive limited run. This will likely remain the case until the club gets closer to Opening Night. Porter is coming off a strong all-around season, during which he averaged 16.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.7 3PM/G across 31.7 minutes per game in 81 regular-season outings.

Nikola Jokic - Set to play limited minutes Coach Mike Malone said Jokic will have a reduced workload during Friday's preseason opener against the Celtics, Katy Winge of Altitude Sports reports.
Impact Malone mentions that he would like to give some playing time to everybody on the roster Friday, so expect Denver's starters to play limited minutes. Jokic will likely continue to receive limited minutes throughout the preseason. However, once the regular season rolls around, Jokic should return to his typical average of around 34 minutes per contest.
