INJURIES

Should be available Sunday Avdija (finger) isn't listed in the injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Hornets.
Impact Avdija suffered a dislocated left pinkie finger in Friday's 107-106 overtime win over the Heat, a game in which he finished with three points, three assists and one rebound across 14 minutes. The injury cut his night short, but it doesn't look as though it'll affect Avdija's availability for Sunday's contest. Expect Avdija to see more minutes Sunday while he plays through the dislocated finger.

Dislocates finger in win Avdija suffered a dislocated left pinkie finger in Friday's 107-106 overtime win over the Heat, Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington reports. He finished with three points (1-2 FG...
Impact The injury sidelined Avdija for the final 24 minutes of the contest and disrupted a string of quality performances for the third-year wing, who had averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 three-pointers, 1.3 steals and 0.8 blocks in 32.5 minutes over his last four appearances coming into Friday. Fortunately, Avdija's removal from the game looks to have been out of an abundance of caution, as head coach Wes Unseld Jr. said afterward that Avdija popped the dislocated finger back in place and could have returned if necessary. Consider him probable to play in Sunday's game against the Hornets until the Wizards update his status.

Drops 21 points on Memphis Avdija ended Sunday's 102-92 win over the Grizzlies with 21 points (8-16 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-3 FT), two rebounds, five assists and one steal across 34 minutes.
Impact Avdija turned in his best scoring performance of the 2022-23 season, topping his 13-point night just a day before against the Jazz. He's been hitting his shots at an impressive clip of late and has now scored in double figures in each of his last three contests.

Wizards earn 4th straight victory, 102-92 over Grizzlies

Kristaps Porzingis scored 25 points and Deni Avdija added 21 to lead the Washington Wizards to their fourth straight victory, 102-92 over the Memphis Grizzlies
NOVEMBER 14, 2022 • Associated Press
Grabs 10 boards in loss Avdija racked up four points (2-12 FG, 0-5 3Pt), 10 rebounds and two assists across 26 minutes during Sunday's 103-97 loss to the Grizzlies.
Impact Avdija rejoined the starting lineup Sunday, sending Anthony Gill back to a bench role, but the former struggled with his shot and finished with five points or fewer for the sixth time this season. Avdija somewhat salvaged his fantasy production Sunday by tying his season-high with 10 boards, but his lack of scoring has severely impacted his overall potential to start the season. Across 10 appearances, he's shooting just 34.7 percent from the field, but he'll look to snap out of his slump Monday against the Hornets.
NOVEMBER 7, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Rejoins starting lineup Avdija is starting Sunday against the Grizzlies, Ava Wallace of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Avdija came off the bench in the last three matchups and averaged 3.0 points and 3.7 rebounds in 22.7 minutes per game during that time. However, he'll rejoin the starting lineup while Anthony Gill comes off the bench Sunday.

Grabs eight boards Wednesday Avdija amassed five points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and three blocks across 29 minutes during Wednesday's 121-111 win over the 76ers.
Impact Coming off the bench, Avdija played a season-high 29 minutes. After starting the first six contests, he's been moved to a reserve role in the last two games. The 21-year-old has not produced much this season, as nearly all his stats are down compared to his first two years.
NOVEMBER 3, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Coming off bench Monday Avdija isn't starting Monday against the 76ers.
Impact Avdija started the first six games of the year and averaged 5.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game. However, he'll come off the bench Monday while Anthony Gill draws the start for the Wizards.

Active Friday Avdija (ankle) will actually be active for Friday's matchup with the Bulls, correcting an earlier report that listed him as out.
Impact Avdija suffered a sprained ankle early in the regular season opener on Wednesday, forcing him to miss the rest of the contest after just eight minutes of action. The 21-year-old started Wednesday's tilt and should be expected to maintain that status for Friday's affair. However, the Wizards may be cautious with his workload, given the recency of the injury.

Will be available Friday Updating a previous item, Avdija (ankle) will be active for Friday's game versus the Bulls.
Impact An erroneous previous report from the team indicated Avdija would sit out, but it appears he will actually avoid missing the action Friday. Coach Wes Unseld suggested Thursday that Avdija will likely be in the starting lineup, so he should be in line for a sizeable workload if his ankle can handle it.

Ruled out against Chicago Avdija (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Bulls.
Impact Coach Wes Unseld said this week that he expected Avdija to start Friday's matchup, but the 21-year-old will be forced to miss at least one game after sustaining a right ankle sprain during Wednesday's regular-season opener against Indiana. Will Barton and Rui Hachimura should see increased roles Friday with Avdija and Corey Kispert (ankle) sidelined.

Expected to start versus Chicago Wizards coach Wes Unseld expects Avdija to start Friday's home opener against the Bulls, Ava Wallace of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Avdija rolled his ankle less than eight minutes into Wednesday's 114-107 win over the Bulls. However, he seems to have avoided a long-term injury and isn't expected to miss any additional time. The third-year forward has been dealing with injuries all preseason, so it's possible the Wizards will ease him into the rotation with limited minutes.
