GAME LOG

Spencer Dinwiddie - Starting Tuesday Dinwiddie will enter the starting lineup in Tuesday's game against the Lakers.
Impact Dinwiddie will return to the starting five after coming off the bench in Monday's loss to Memphis, during which he posted six points (2-3 FG, 2-2 3Pt), three assists and a rebound across 30 minutes. The veteran point guard has seen a significant bump in playing time with Luka Doncic (calf) and Kyrie Irving (back) sidelined, and over his last five outings (four starts), Dinwiddie has averaged 12.6 points, 4.0 assists and 3.4 rebounds across 29.4 minutes per game.
JANUARY 8 • ROTOWIRE
Daniel Gafford - Out against Los Angeles Gafford (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Lakers.
Impact As expected, Gafford will miss Tuesday's matchup against the Lakers in Dallas. The 26-year-old went down with ankle sprain during Monday's loss to the Grizzlies. He is having a solid season for the Mavericks, averaging a career-high 11.7 points per game, and will be sorely missed in the paint by Dallas if he misses an extended period. Dereck Lively, Dwight Powell and Maxi Kleber could see more minutes on the floor in Gafford's absence.
JANUARY 7 • ROTOWIRE
Dante Exum - Not ready to play Tuesday Exum (wrist) remains listed as out for Tuesday's game against the Lakers.
Impact Exum was tabbed for a three-month recovery period after undergoing right wrist surgery in October, and the Mavs have not yet offered an update on his status. The veteran guard can be labeled doubtful for game action until that happens, and he can be regarded as out indefinitely going forward. In Exum's absence, Spencer Dinwiddie, Quentin Grimes and Jaden Hardy remain options for significant roles in Dallas' injury-riddled backcourt.

Daniel Gafford - Expected to miss time Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said after Monday's 119-104 loss to the Grizzlies that Gafford is "probably going to be out for some time" after exiting with 8:26 remaining in the...
Impact Gafford posted five points (2-3 FG, 1-3 FT), one rebound and one block in eight minutes before tweaking his ankle. He was able to walk off the court under his own power, but initial evaluations on Gafford's ankle injury apparently weren't favorable, given Kidd's post-game comments. A firmer timeline for Gafford's return should be available once he undergoes further testing, but fantasy managers can expect the reserve center to miss at least the Mavericks' remaining three games this week. While Gafford is sidelined, starter Dereck Lively will likely have a higher minutes ceiling, and Dwight Powell could move back into the rotation as a backup center. Maxi Kleber could also see more time at center after primarily being deployed as a reserve power forward this season.

Dereck Lively II - Efficient double-double in loss Lively dropped 14 points (7-11 FG), grabbed 12 boards, blocked three shots and dished one assist in 33 minutes of play during Monday's 119-104 loss to the Grizzlies.
Impact The sophomore big man recorded his sixth double-double of the season, and tied his second-highest marks for blocks and assists while he was at it. In the five games previous, Lively had averaged 7.2 points and 8.4 boards. He'll look to keep building on Monday's performance against the Lakers on Tuesday.
JANUARY 7 • ROTOWIRE
P.J. Washington Jr. - Posts double-double in loss Washington logged 17 points (7-22 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 10 boards, five assists and three steals during 32 minutes of action in the 119-104 loss to the Grizzlies on Monday.
Impact The big man led his team in scoring and, although his efficiency left much to be desired, he stuffed the stat sheet nonetheless. With Daniel Gafford (ankle) playing just eight minutes before leaving the game and Luka Doncic (calf) and Kyrie Irving (back) already out, the offensive load fell on Washington, who took more shots Monday than he has all season. Since Doncic is shut down for the foreseeable future, Irving has been deemed out for one-to-two weeks and head coach Jason Kidd has called Gafford's future availability into question, Washington could remain the team's top option going forward.
JANUARY 7 • ROTOWIRE
Naji Marshall - Logs 16 points as starter Marshall posted 16 points (5-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 33 minutes of action during Monday's loss to the Grizzlies.
Impact Despite spending the bulk of this season coming off the bench, Marshall got a chance to start in his return from suspension with Luka Doncic (calf) and Kyrie Irving (back) on the sidelines. He recorded a full stat line and contributed on both ends of the court, but his struggles from the field did hurt his fantasy output. Even if he remains with the first unit while both Doncic and Irving remain out, it's worth noting that neither his volume nor production tend to take a significant leap in the role, as he averages 12.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists as a starter vs. 10.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists off the bench.

Daniel Gafford - Shut down with ankle sprain Gafford won't return to Monday's game against the Grizzlies due to a left ankle sprain. He recorded five points (2-3 FG, 1-3 FT), one rebound and one block over eight minutes befor...
Impact The Mavs should have a better idea of Gafford's timetable for a return after gauging how the ankle feels Tuesday morning. Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell would continue to see more run in the frontcourt if Gafford is forced to miss additional time.
JANUARY 7 • ROTOWIRE
Daniel Gafford - Goes down with leg injury Gafford went to the locker room during the second quarter of Monday's game against the Grizzlies due to a left leg injury, Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Gafford will be considered questionable to return until the team has more to report on the severity of his injury. Dwight Powell and Maxi Kleber could see more playing time if Gafford is unable to return.
