Impact Garland shot a career-high 41.0 percent from beyond the arc last year, but he didn't get off to the best start in replicating that efficiency Tuesday. He finished last season averaging 21.6 points, 7.8 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 35.5 minutes across 69 games. Garland will look to help the Cavaliers take the next leap and make it past the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 2018.

Isaac Okoro - Leading scorer in loss Okoro posted 19 points (6-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three assists, two rebounds and a steal over 21 minutes in Tuesday's 108-107 preseason loss to the Hawks.
Impact After spending his first two seasons as the starting small forward for the Cavaliers, Okoro found himself coming off the bench in 30 games last season. He had career lows across the board last year but shot a career-best 49.4 percent from the field. Okoro is competing with Max Strus and Caris LeVert for meaningful minutes at the wing alongside Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell. Okoro will look to strengthen his case Thursday against the Magic.

Evan Mobley - Near double-double in loss Mobley scored 10 points (3-6 FG, 4-5 FT), nine rebounds and a block over 16 minutes in Tuesday's 108-107 preseason loss to the Hawks.
Impact Mobley led the team in rebounding and tied Isaac Okoro for the most free throw attempts. Mobley improved his per-game averages in points, rebounds, assists and field goal percentage in his second year i the league. He started in all 79 games last season and averaged 16.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 blocks in 34.4 minutes per game. Mobley will look to take another leap forward in his third year in the league alongside Jarrett Allen in the front court.

Trent Forrest - Hits game-winning FT Forrest tallied 13 points (5-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three assists, two rebounds and two steals over 14 minutes in Tuesday's 108-107 win over the Cavaliers.
Impact Forrest hit the game-tying layup while fouled by Emoni Bates and hit the subsequent free throw to give the Hawks the one-point win. He signed a two-way deal with Atlanta on Sept. 12 after playing 23 NBA games with the team last season when he averaged 2.3 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 12.0 minutes per game. He'll look to carve out a larger role for himself during the preseason and will have his next chance Thursday against the Grizzlies.
