Impact Williams had started each of the last eight games, and he averaged 17.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 32.5 minutes per game during that time. Kris Dunn will draw the start against San Antonio.

Impact After a pair of competitive games against Washington and Atlanta, Portland was back to being blown off the floor Wednesday night in a game that got out of hand in the second half. Williams has now started five straight games with Anfernee Simons (quad) out, and it remains very much unclear when Simons will be back. With the Blazers squarely focused on losing as many games as they can between now and April 10, it wouldn't be a surprise if Simons is brought along slowly.

Impact After putting up a career-high 21 points Saturday in the first of back-to-back road games in Minnesota, Williams took it up another notch Monday in the rematch. He picked up the starting nod with Anfernee Simons (quadriceps) out of the lineup and was essentially the entirety of the Portland offense, as few other players on the roster stepped up. Williams will see a scaled-back role if Simons is back in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Utah, but the undrafted rookie should at least continue to fill a high-usage role on Portland's second unit.

All of Justise Winslow (Achilles), Greg Brown (illness) and Elijah Hughes (thumb) could be back for Portland's next game Monday in Minnesota.

Eric Bledsoe (Achilles) is being evaluated on a game-by-game basis but is without a clear timeline to return, while Damian Lillard (abdomen) is scheduled to be re-evaluated in the next 2-to-3 weeks and could end up being shut down for the season.

Impact Williams, an undrafted rookie out of Arizona, previously made his NBA debut with Portland earlier this season when the Trail Blazers were without several players due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols. He made a pair of appearances for Portland in late December, playing 12 minutes in total. He's otherwise spent the 2021-22 campaign with the G League's Westchester Knicks, averaging 22.8 points, 6.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 33.1 minutes per game through 13 appearances. He hasn't played for Westchester since Feb. 13 due to a sore right knee, though the injury is believed to be a day-to-day concern.
