Alex Palou ordered to pay McLaren Racing $12M in breach of contract suit

Four-time IndyCar champion Alex Palou has been ordered to pay McLaren Racing more than $12 million for breach of contract

Runner-up Finish in Abu Dhabi Piastri finished second in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Yas Marina Circuit on Sunday evening.

Impact PIastri would start the grand prix on hard tyres in contrast to the many who would start on medium compound rubber. He would get off well at the lights out and actually overtake his teammate, Lando Norris, on the opening lap. Piastri would hold down P2 during his long opening stint and inherit the lead at Max Verstappen's first pit stop. The McLaren youngster would lead a number of laps before his own pit stop. Piastri would cut into Verstappen's lead down the stretch but would still finish P2 at nearly 12.5-seconds back. It was his 16th podium of the season and he finishes third in the final driver standings.

Impact A clean start from pole would allow Piastri to lead the opening 23 laps. He would have a comfortable margin but the team's blunder of keeping him out during a lap 7 safety car would ultimately undo his chances to win Sunday in Qatar. He and Verstappen would exchange the lead during alternate pit stops in the second-half of the race but eventually the Red Bull star would take control. Piastri would cut into his lead down the stretch but still come up 8-seconds short at the checkered flag for the runner-up finish.

Piastri will be the driver to beat in this late-season clash.
