Driving for TRICON at Daytona 500 Truex Jr. will drive the No. 56 Toyota for TRICON Garage in his attempt to qualify for the 2025 Daytona 500, the team announced Thursday.

Impact Truex Jr. hinted at another Daytona 500 attempt in 2025 after he announced his retirement from full-time Cup racing last summer. The only question was who would field a car for the 2017 Cup Series champ. It will be the David Gilliland-owned team in TRICON Garage who will make their Cup Series debut. TRICON has a close relationship with Joe Gibbs Racing, serving as a feeder team in the Truck Series. You can bet that Truex Jr. will have a fast hot rod under him and he will reunite with crew chief Cole Pearn as they look to qualify for the Great American Race. Pearn and Truex won 24 races in five seasons together, including that 2017 championship. Long-time partner Bass Pro Shops will be the primary sponsor on board the No. 56 entry. Nothing further has been announced at this point, but it wouldn't be shocking to see Truex Jr. in this car a couple other times in 2025.
