Electrical Issues at Martinsville Cindric would be forced to retire early due to electrical issues and finished 38th in the Cook Out 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

Impact Cindric's attempt to drive forward Sunday at the Virginia short track would be cut short due to electrical problems in the No. 2 Ford. He would pit on lap 87 and the team would change batteries for the first of a few times during the day. Cindric would be hamstrung by the problem and would be forced to go to the garage for the day just 30 laps short of the finish. The DNF was Cindric's first of the season.

Wins Daytona Duel 2 CIndric won Daytona Duel 2 for the Daytona 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona International Speedway Thursday night.

Impact This race wouldn't feature the multiple accidents of the first Duel, but would evolve into a running battle between Ford and Toyota drivers. However, it would come down to a last-lap caution and photo finish between Cindric and Erik Jones. Jones would beat him to the finish line, but upon review Cindric was ruled ahead at the time caution came out. The win was the Penske Racing driver's first in the Daytona Duels after finishing runner-up for the last three seasons.

Impact The Penske Racing driver was able to post a lap of 182.463 mph in the final round of qualifying, but it was just short of pole position. That would go to Chase Briscoe in the No. 19 Toyota. Cindric would edge Ryan Preece to capture P2 and the outside pole for Sunday's Daytona 500. This is his first front-row start at Daytona in eight starts and best qualifying position at the historic Florida oval.
