P5 in Barcelona Piastri finished fifth in the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix F1 race at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday.
Impact Starting seventh on the grid, Piastri would struggle with grip the entire race but make some headway none-the-less. The young McLaren driver would lose an early-race battle with Charles Leclerc but a fast pit stop on lap 14 would get him pointed back towards the front. Piastri would benefit from the late-race retirements of Leclerc and Kimi Antonelli and would promote to P5 at the checkered flag.

Impact The McLaren youngster started seventh on the grid and was able to promote one spot immediately due to the Max Verstappen mechanical failure. Piastri ran a long opening stint and would pit out of P4 on lap 48. He would be hit, like many others, with a 5-second penalty for speeding on pit lane. Collision and Penalty Piastri finished 11th in the Canadian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Sunday afternoon.
Impact Things would get off to a poor start for Piastri in Canada. The team would opt to start the race on intermediate tyres although the track was quickly drying out. This strategy fumble would cause Piastri to pit at the end of lap 1 for slick tyres but he would lose a lot of track position. Later in the race the McLaren youngster would collide with Alex Albon and put the Williams driver out of the race. The stewards would assess a 10-second time penalty to Piastri and that would mire him in the field. He would make a couple late overtakes but could only achieve P11 by the checkered flag.

Third in Miami Grand Prix Piastri finished third in the Miami Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Miami International Autodrome on Sunday afternoon.
Impact The McLaren youngster would start seventh on the grid after a somewhat disappointing qualifying session. Piastri would get off to a strong start and work his way up the order throughout the grand prix. Good pit strategy would get him in position to challenge for a podium spot and he would secure it on the penultimate lap by overtaking Charles Leclerc after an unfortunate spin. That would put Piastri in P3 and give McLaren a double podium day in Miami.

Runner-up Finish in Qatar PIastri finished second in the Qatar Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Lusail International Circuit on Sunday.
Impact A clean start from pole would allow Piastri to lead the opening 23 laps. He would have a comfortable margin but the team's blunder of keeping him out during a lap 7 safety car would ultimately undo his chances to win Sunday in Qatar. He and Verstappen would exchange the lead during alternate pit stops in the second-half of the race but eventually the Red Bull star would take control. Piastri would cut into his lead down the stretch but still come up 8-seconds short at the checkered flag for the runner-up finish.

He would race out to nearly a 5-second advantage over the 19-lap event. The only bump in the road for Piastri was some tyre degradation near the end that would keep Russell within eyesight of his McLaren. The young driver will now shift focus towards qualifying well for Sunday's Qatar Grand Prix.
