Runner-up Finish at WWTR Ericsson finished second in the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 NTT IndyCar Series race at World Wide Technology Raceway on Sunday night.

Impact The Andretti Global star would have the car to beat in the first half of this race. Ericsson would methodically pick his way through the field and take the lead from Alex Palou. He would lead a race-high 114 laps but his car would begin to fade a bit as the track cooled into the night. Josef Newgarden would take over for good at lap 221 and Ericsson would chase him down, but could only come within a half-second by the checkered flag. It was his first podium of the season.

Bounces back in Detroit Ericsson finished eighth in the NTT IndyCar Series Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix.

Impact It was Ericsson's first Top-10 finish since Barber, ending a streak of three consecutive finishes outside of the Top 10, which included a pair of finishes worse than 20th. The IndyCar Series is now off to Gateway, where Ericsson has shown speed in qualifying but hasn't quite managed to put that together on race day. His average start at the track is 8.5, while his average finish is 13.4.
