Impact Daly is getting a one-off attempt at the upcoming Indianapolis 500 with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. The veteran put on a real show in the opening day of tests at the historic oval. Daly beat out Helio Castroneves to claim the top lap in the non-tow speeds. It was a good shake down for this small team and a hopeful sign for Daly's chances at Indianapolis next month.

Wrecks after feisty exchange Daly crashed on Lap 13 of the Grand Prix of Portland IndyCar race.

Impact Daly got into a feisty exchange with Christian Rasmussen that escalated throughout Lap 13. The end result was Rasmussen sending Daly off track as he tried to pass around the outside on Turn 10, sending him into the barriers at a high rate of speed. Daly was understandably mad about the encounter, but no penalty was issued.

Tallies top-10 finish Daly finished seventh at the Synk 275 IndyCar race at Iowa Speedway on Saturday.

Impact Daly is known for his work on oval tracks, making Iowa a weekend he needed to capitalize on. He did so Saturday, qualifying second and turning in his third top-10 finish of the season -- all of which have come on ovals. Daly was also in position for a good finish Sunday, but he pitted early under green flag conditions shortly before a caution came out to push him down the running order for a 16th-place finish.
