Impact Though he was optioned to Triple-A on Sunday, Short is eligible to rejoin the Tigers before the minimum 10 days after outfielders Akil Baddoo (concussion) and Derek Hill (rib) were placed on the injured list Wednesday in corresponding moves. Niko Goodrum returned from an IL stint earlier this week and has taken back starting duties at shortstop, but the injuries to Baddoo and Hill could result in the versatile 29-year-old taking on more work in the outfield. If that's the case, Short would be vying primarily with Willi Castro for reps at shortstop.
