Impact After checking out fine after throwing a live batting practice session Saturday, Fairbanks has been cleared to join the Marlins for the start of their six-game road trip and should be ready to go for the second game of the club's series in Minnesota. Before hitting the shelf April 28 after experiencing nerve irritation in his right hand, Fairbanks had notched five saves in six chances but had posted a 10.00 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in nine innings over 10 appearances. Fairbanks' underlying numbers (3.48 xERA, 22.0 K-BB%) were more encouraging, however, and he should immediately step back in as Miami's preferred closing option after none of the Marlins' other relievers have seized control of the ninth inning while he's been on the shelf.

Jakob Marsee - Swipes two bags Sunday Marsee went 1-for-2 with a walk, one run scored and two stolen bases in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Nationals. He was also hit by a pitch.

Impact Marsee came up big late, swiping two bags and scoring a run during the Marlins' three-run bottom of the eighth inning. The 24-year-old has struggled to get going this season, but he's flashed his potential this weekend with a homer and two stolen bases over his past two contests. On the year, he's slashing .182/.307/.277 with two home runs, 13 RBI, 22 runs scored and 12 steals across 177 plate appearances.

Cade Cavalli - Strikes out four in no-decision Cavalli did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Marlins, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk with four strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Impact Cavalli yielded two runs in the third inning but was otherwise strong, generating 12 swinging strikes on 95 pitches while limiting the Marlins to only singles. The 27-year-old fell one out shy of a quality start, and he's now allowed two earned runs or fewer in seven of nine outings to open the campaign. He'll carry a 4.02 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 44:18 K:BB across 40.1 innings into a home matchup against the Orioles next weekend.
