Ian Happ - Homers again Sunday Happ went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Nationals.
Impact Happ and Alex Bregman accounted for all of Chicago's offense Sunday, with Bregman going deep twice and Happ once. For the latter, it was his second long ball in as many games. Happ is locked in as the Cubs' No. 3 hitter most days, and with a strong lineup around him that was boosted by the offseason addition of Bregman to bat second, the veteran outfielder could be in store for an excellent fantasy campaign.

Alex Bregman - Goes deep twice Sunday Bregman went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Nationals.
Impact Bregman came into the contest with just a single and a walk through two games with his new team, but he broke out in a big way with his first two home runs of 2026. The third baseman went deep 18 times last season, which was the first time he was under 20 homers since 2021. Bregman should have the chance to produce excellent stats this year as a key piece of a strong Chicago lineup.

Matt Shaw - On bench Sunday Shaw is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
Impact Shaw went 1-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored in both of the Cubs' first two games of the season, but he'll cede right field to Michael Conforto in the series finale. While Seiya Suzuki (knee) is on the shelf, Shaw should rank as the preferred option in right field against left-handed pitching, but Shaw and Conforto could operate in more of a timeshare versus righties.
