Notches win Monday Peralta (2-1) earned the win over Tampa Bay on Monday, pitching a scoreless inning during which he allowed one walk and struck out one batter.
Impact Peralta was called upon in the bottom of the ninth after the Yankees had taken a two-run lead in the top of the frame. He allowed a walk to begin his outing and also had a batter reach base on an error behind him, but the left-hander was able to close out the contest without allowing any runs to score. Though the situation in which he entered would typically net Peralta a save, the official scorer instead decided to credit him with the win per MLB Rule 9.17(c).

Records hold Wednesday Peralta earned a hold against the Rays on Wednesday, striking out three batters over 1.2 perfect innings.
Impact Peralta relieved starter Nestor Cortes with a pair of runners on base and one out in the sixth inning. He kept Tampa Bay off the scoreboard by retiring two straight batters and followed with a perfect seventh frame that included two strikeouts. Peralta has thrown eight scoreless innings over his past seven appearances and has been outstanding overall this season, posting a 1.50 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 16:6 K:BB over 24 frames while recording six holds and one save.

Yankees vs. Mets: Who wins in MLB's battle for New York?
Picks up first save Peralta allowed one walk and struck out two across 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the save in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Angels.
Impact Peralta entered the game with a five-run lead but with the bases loaded. He retired Jared Walsh to end the threat and closed out the final frame without incident. It was Peralta's first save of the season, and he doesn't figure to find himself in the closer role often with both Aroldis Chapman (Achilles) and Clay Holmes occupying the ninth inning. Even so, Peralta has had an effective start to the campaign by maintaining a 2.08 ERA and 11:6 K:BB across 17.1 frames.

Breaking down Yankees' short- and long-term options for late relief
Nabs win Tuesday Peralta (1-0) was credited with the win Tuesday against Toronto. He allowed one walk and struck out one batter in a scoreless inning of relief.
Impact Peralta came on in the top of the ninth inning with New York trailing by two runs. He walked George Springer with two outs but retired the other three batters he faced to keep the deficit at two. Peralta was then credited with the win after Aaron Judge belted a walkoff three-run homer in the bottom of the frame. The left-handed reliever has been solid this season, posting a 1.64 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 11 innings. His 6:5 K:BB isn't ideal, however.

Secures one-year, $2.15M deal Peralta and the Yankees agreed Tuesday on a one-year, $2.15 million contract to avoid arbitration, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
Impact Peralta will more than double his salary from 2021 after he emerged as an unsung hero out of the New York bullpen following his acquisition from the Giants last April. In his 46 relief appearances with the Yankees, Peralta collected five holds and three saves while turning in a 2.95 ERA in 42.2 innings. He'll be part of the bridge to closer Aroldis Chapman once again in 2022.

Earns win Wednesday Peralta (5-3) took the win over Baltimore on Wednesday, allowing one hit and retiring one batter via strikeout.
Impact Peralta came into the contest with two outs in the eighth inning and the Yankees down by a run. He allowed a single to Anthony Santander but finished the frame by striking out Ramon Urias. The southpaw was credited with the win as a result of New York rallying for two runs in the top of the ninth. Peralta has struck out five batters in his last 3.2 frames but has also walked five over that stretch.
SEPTEMBER 16, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Takes loss Monday Peralta (4-3) allowed one run on one hit and a walk while striking out two over an inning of work as he took the loss Monday against the Angels.
Impact Peralta entered in the eighth trying to preserve a 7-7 tie. He gave up a leadoff single to Brandon Marsh, who would end up advancing to third on two groundouts before being brought home on a base hit from Juan Lagares. Raisel Iglesias would shut the Yankees down the following inning to end the game. Monday's run was Peralta's first given up in 11 appearances this month. He now sits at a 3.76 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 29:12 K:BB over 38.1 innings.

Nabs fifth save Peralta worked a scoreless third of an inning Tuesday night, nabbing the save in the Yankees' 5-4 win over the Braves.
Impact Peralta was summoned from the bullpen after Aroldis Chapman walked Jorge Soler with the bases loaded to bring the Braves within one. Facing Freddie Freeman with nowhere to put him, Peralta got the five-time All-Star to fly out to end the game. The left-hander has yet to allow a run in 10 August appearances.

Notches two-out save Peralta worked around one hit to earn a two-out save against the White Sox on Sunday.
Impact Peralta inherited a one-out, two-on threat and allowed one run to score on a Tim Anderson base hit. He then induced a game-ending double play, escaping with his fourth save of the year after just five pitches. He's tossed 7.1 innings with seven strikeouts, one unearned run and a pair of saves over his last six appearances.
AUGUST 16, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Notches save in 11th inning Peralta earned the save against the Royals on Monday, allowing an unearned run on two hits in one inning. He struck out one.
Impact Four different Yankees relievers were charged with a blown save in the contest as Kansas City erased a deficit in each of the seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th innings. New York put up three runs in the top of the 11th and turned the ball over to Peralta to seal the win, which he succeeded in doing despite allowing a pair of hits. The save was the southpaw's third of the season and first since joining the Yankees on April 27. He has four holds over 25 games with New York but has mostly worked in a low-leverage role and occasionally as an opener.

Tosses 1.2 innings as opener Peralta didn't factor into the decision Friday against Seattle after tossing 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and fanning two.
Impact Peralta was reinstated from COVID-19 injured list Thursday. As expected, he didn't pitch deep into the game and only recorded five outs before being lifted. That said, this was his longest outing of the campaign since he hadn't completed more than 1.1 innings in any outing this season prior to Friday's. He now owns a 4.94 ERA on the season.

Drawing spot start Peralta will start Friday's game against Seattle, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
Impact Peralta was reinstated from COVID-19 injured list Thursday and Friday's start will mark his first appearance since. He isn't likely to work deep into the game, as he hasn't completed more than 1.1 innings in any outing this season. A bulk reliever will likely follow Peralta, with Stephen Ridings and Albert Abreu candidates to work multiple innings.

Rejoins Yankees The Yankees reinstated Peralta from the COVID-19 injured list Thursday.
Impact Before testing positive for the virus July 15, Peralta appeared in 22 games for the Yankees, posting a 5.19 ERA and 10:7 K:BB in 17.1 relief innings. The lefty figures to pitch in low-leverage situations going forward.

Begins rehab assignment Peralta (illness) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Thursday.
Impact Peralta has been out for two weeks after testing positive for COVID-19. Given the relatively brief nature of his absence, he probably won't need too many rehab outings before he's ready to return.
JULY 29, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Tosses bullpen session Saturday Peralta (illness) threw a bullpen session at the Yankees' Double-A stadium in Somerset on Saturday, Mike Ashmore of PatriotsBaseball.com reports.
Impact Peralta was one of several Yankees to test positive for Covid-19 in mid-July, and he is just beginning to work his way back into game shape. According to Julio Mosquera, manager of the Double-A Somerset Patriots, Peralta is "trying to get his feet back under him and make sure body responds the right way." The lefty reliever could go on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to being activated, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
JULY 25, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Tests positive for COVID-19 Peralta tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.
Impact Manager Brian Cashman revealed Thursday that Peralta was one of at least three Yankees who have tested positive for the virus. The southpaw will be away from the team for at least 10 days, but his return timetable depends on how quickly he's able to clear the league's health and safety protocols following his 10-day absence.
JULY 15, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Placed on COVID-19 IL Peralta was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Thursday.
Impact It's not yet clear whether Peralta has tested positive for the virus, but he'll be unavailable in the near future following his placement on the injured list. If the southpaw hasn't tested positive for COVID-19, he'll be eligible to return as soon as he clears the league's health and safety protocols. Across his last two appearances, Peralta allowed a run on a hit and a walk while striking out one in two innings. Left-hander Zack Britton (hamstring) was reinstated from the injured list as part of a corresponding move.
JULY 15, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Remains on active roster Peralta will remain on the Yankees' active roster after Tyler Wade was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Impact Peralta was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Sunday, and he served as the 27th man during the team's doubleheader against the Mets. The southpaw didn't appear in either of the two games, but he'll remain in the major-league bullpen going forward. Peralta has posted a 5.32 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 23.2 innings across 30 relief appearances this year.
JULY 5, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Activated from IL The Yankees reinstated Peralta (back) from the 10-day injured list and added him as the 27th man for Sunday's doubleheader against the Mets.
Impact A back strain landed the lefty on the 10-day IL on June 26. His most recent appearance June 18 against the Athletics was a rough one, as he allowed three runs on three hits in 1.1 innings. It's unclear whether Peralta will rejoin the Yankees' 26-man roster, or be sent to Triple-A following the doubleheader.
