INJURIES

Records first steal Pasquantino went 1-for-5 with two RBI, one run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 9-2 win over the Tigers.
Impact The steal was Pasquantino's first since his rookie year in 2022 -- he was on the back end of a double steal that saw Bobby Witt swipe third base. While there's virtually no speed in Pasquantino's game, he has swung a hot bat lately, going 21-for-55 (.381) over his last 13 games. For the season, he's at a .263/.319/.441 slash line with 14 home runs, 78 RBI, 49 runs scored, 24 doubles and two triples across 107 contests.
AUGUST 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Slugs two homers Thursday Pasquantino went 2-for-5 with a pair of home runs and four RBI in a 7-1 win against the Tigers on Thursday.
Impact Pasquantino drove in more than half of the Royals' runs in the victory, belting a three-run shot in the first inning and a solo blast in the eighth. The first baseman had gone 17 contests without homering before he went deep Wednesday, and he's now swatted three long balls over his past two games. Pasquantino also has seven multi-hit performance over his past 11 contests and is slashing .413/.438/.652 with 13 RBI during that span.
AUGUST 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Ends homer drought Pasquantino went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the White Sox.
Impact Pasquantino hit an RBI single in the first inning before adding a two-run homer in the ninth. The long ball was his first since July 6, though the first baseman was still productive by batting .309 with 10 RBI over the 17 contests between homers. For the season, he's up to a .262/.320/.429 slash line with 12 homers, 72 RBI, 46 runs scored, 24 doubles and no stolen bases across 105 games.
AUGUST 1, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Drives in two in loss Pasquantino went 3-for-4 with a walk and two RBI in Wednesday's 8-6 loss to the Diamondbacks.
Impact Pasquantino appears to be taking inspiration from teammate Bobby Witt -- this was the former's second three-hit effort in the last three games. Pasquantino has gotten to turning around his season in July, batting .304 this month, though he's still lacking in power with a .377 slugging percentage over 17 games in that span. For the year, the first baseman has a .258/.320/.425 slash line with 11 home runs, 66 RBI, 44 runs scored, 23 doubles and two triples over 99 contests.
JULY 25, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Tallies three hits Pasquantino went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Monday's 10-4 win over the Diamondbacks.
Impact Pasquantino hit an RBI single and scored on a Salvador Perez home run in the third inning. It's been a decent but unspectacular July for Pasquantino -- he's batting .274 (17-for-62) with two extra-base hits and nine RBI over 15 contests this month. He's up to a .252/.312/.419 slash line with 11 home runs, 64 RBI, 43 runs scored, 22 doubles and two triples over 97 games this season as the Royals' starting first baseman. His best asset in 2024 has been a 13.2 percent strikeout rate, which has likely helped him prevent extended cold spells at the plate.
JULY 23, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Smacks solo homer in loss Pasquantino went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's loss to Colorado.
Impact Pasquantino jumped on a hanging slider from Austin Gomber in the top of the sixth and launched it 434 feet into the stands in center field for his 11th home run of the season, extending his hitting streak to four games. The first baseman has also tallied multiple hits in six of his last 10 contests and has driven in at least one run in 10 of his last 12. Over that former stretch Pasquantino is batting .375 (15-for-40) with three homers, 11 RBI and five runs scored.
JULY 7, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
RBI streak at six games Pasquantino went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Guardians.
Impact The first baseman opened the scoring for his squad in the first inning by taking Tanner Bibee deep, but the Royals' offense dried up after that. Pasquantino has gone yard in back-to-back games and has a six-game RBI streak going, batting .348 (8-for-23) over that stretch with a double, three homers and eight RBI.
JUNE 30, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Drives in go-ahead runs Pasquantino went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in the Royals' 8-4 win over the Mariners on Saturday.
Impact Pasquantino broke a 3-3 tie with a two-out double in the bottom of the fifth that brought home two. It was the 26-year-old's ninth multi-RBI effort of the season and his third over his last eight games. He now has 43 RBI this season, which is second on the Royals behind Bobby Witt. Pasquantino's been a steady producer in the middle of the Royals' lineup all season and will carry a .244/.317/.433 line into Sunday's game.
JUNE 8, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Homers in return Pasquantino went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 7-6 loss to the Twins.
Impact Pasquantino missed Wednesday's game due to a shin injury, but his absence wasn't a long one. He served as the designated hitter Thursday, but it shouldn't be long before he's back at first base. The 26-year-old's homer was his first since May 9, which was also the date of his previous multi-hit effort. Pasquantino is slashing just .229/.309/.404 with six homers, 35 RBI, 26 runs scored, 13 doubles and a triple over 220 plate appearances.
MAY 31, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Draws back into lineup Pasquantino (shin) will start at designated hitter and will bat third in Thursday's game against the Twins.
Impact After exiting early in Tuesday's 4-2 loss when Byron Buxton's knee collided with his left shin, Pasquantino sat out Wednesday's 6-1 win. The day off appears to be all Pasquantino needed for the pain in his lower leg to subside, so he'll rejoin the starting nine in a non-defensive role for the series finale. Salvador Perez will get a day off behind the plate and will start at Pasquantino's usual spot at first base.
MAY 30, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Getting Wednesday off Pasquantino (shin) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.
Impact Pasquantino avoided any structural damage to his left shin and is being viewed as day-to-day after he collided with Minnesota's Byron Buxton in the third inning of the Royals' 4-2 loss Tuesday. Nick Loftin will step in at first base for the banged-up Pasquantino.

Trea Turner, Juan Soto headline Ben Verlander's Team of the Week
Getting first day off Pasquantino is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.
Impact The 26-year-old will get his first day off of the 2024 season while Salvador Perez steps in for him at first base. After his 2023 campaign was cut short in June due to surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, Pasquantino was fully cleared ahead of spring training but has struggled out of the gate to begin the campaign. Through nine games, Pasquantino is slashing .121/.216/.121 with no extra-base hits and a 13.5 percent strikeout rate over 37 plate appearances.

Undergoes shoulder surgery Pasquantino underwent surgery Wednesday to repair the torn labrum in his right shoulder, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Impact Pasquantino was diagnosed with the season-ending labrum tear a couple weeks ago. He is aiming to be ready for the beginning of the 2024 campaign, though there probably won't be a clearer picture on his overall recovery timetable until the winter months. The 25-year-old first baseman finishes at a .247/.324/.437 slash line with nine homers and 26 RBI over 61 games in 2023.
JUNE 21, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Transferred to 60-day IL Kansas City transferred Pasquantino (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list Sunday.
Impact Pasquantino will miss the rest of the 2023 season after undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery, so this is just a procedural move that clears room on the 40-man roster. The Royals used that created room to select the contract of Matt Beaty from Triple-A Omaha.

JUNE 14, 2023 • DEADSPIN.COM
Needs surgery, done for season The Royals announced Wednesday that Pasquantino (shoulder) will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2023 season.
Impact The 25-year-old was diagnosed with right shoulder discomfort Friday and was placed on the 10-day injured list a day later before follow-up tests evidently revealed a more serious injury. Pasquantino will inevitably be moved to 60-day IL in the near future, which will open a spot on the 40-man roster. He finishes his 2023 season having produced a .247 batting average with nine home runs, 26 RBI and 24 runs scored over 259 plate appearances in 61 games.

JUNE 10, 2023 • MLB.COM
Placed on injured list Pasquantino landed on the injured list Saturday with what the Royals described as right shoulder instability.
Impact Pasquantino left Friday's game against Baltimore with what was originally called right shoulder discomfort. His updated diagnosis remains somewhat vague, but he'll undergo an MRI on Monday, per Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star, at which point a clearer timeline for his return may emerge. Nick Pratto will likely spend more time at first base until Pasquantino returns, which would open up at-bats in left field for Edward Olivares, who was activated off the restricted list to take Pasquantino's spot on the roster.
JUNE 10, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Exits with right shoulder injury Pasquantino left Friday's game against the Orioles with right shoulder discomfort, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports. He went 0-for-3 before exiting.
Impact Pasquantino was replaced by Matt Duffy at first base. It's likely Pasquantino will likely undergo further testing on the shoulder to determine the severity of the injury, but at this point the 25-year-old should be considered day-to-day.
JUNE 10, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Gets Monday off Pasquantino is out of the lineup for Monday's game in Miami.
Impact After going 0-for-10 with two walks in the Royals' weekend series with the Rockies, Pasquantino will get a mental day off in the series opener with the Marlins. Nick Pratto will pick up the start at first base, while shortstop Bobby Witt gets a day out of the field and serves as the Royals' designated hitter.
