Impact Machin didn't make an appearance during the AL Wild Card Round, so it's not hard to see why he wouldn't be considered an important part of the team for Oakland's next series. Reliever Jordan Weems was added in his place.

Though Chapman has been ruled out for the season after undergoing hip surgery, the Athletics don't appear to be view Machin as a viable everyday option at the hot corner.
