Slated to start Saturday Gilbert will start Saturday's game against the Padres, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.

Impact Gilbert joined the major-league club in early August, and he's struck out five in 3.2 scoreless innings across three relief appearances. The southpaw worked mainly as a starter at Triple-A Reno to begin the year, so he should be able to handle a normal workload in his first major-league start.

Impact He logged a 3.44 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 50:19 K:BB in 52.1 innings working mostly as a starter at Triple-A, but it's possible he will just be deployed as a long reliever during his first big-league stint.
