Lands MiLB deal from Phillies The Phillies signed Davidson to a minor-league contract Tuesday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Impact Davidson began the 2025 season with the Lotte Giants in Korea and finished it at Triple-A Nashville in the Brewers organization, where he held a 4.68 ERA and 25:7 K:BB over 25 innings covering six starts. The lefty has a career 5.76 ERA across 56 appearances (17 starts) at the major-league level. Davidson will likely begin the 2026 campaign in the rotation at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Lands in KBO Davidson signed with the Lotte Giants of the KBO on Thursday, Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net reports.
Impact Davidson was in the majors for large portions of the 2022 and 2023 seasons before pitching nearly exclusively in the minors in 2024 as a member of the Orioles organization. He was designated for assignment late in the season before opting for free agency.

Reaches free agency Davidson elected free agency Monday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
Impact Davidson opted for free agency rather than accepting an outright assignment from the Orioles. The left-hander made one extended relief appearance for Baltimore this season, tossing 4.2 shutout inning. He collected a 3.89 ERA and 104:46 K:BB over 115.2 frames covering 17 starts and 15 relief appearances at Triple-A Norfolk.

Designated for assignment Davidson was designated for assignment Sunday.
Impact Davidson's contract was selected Saturday, and he logged 4.2 scoreless innings in Minnesota while giving up four hits and two walks with just one strikeout. The 28-year-old lefty logged a 3.89 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 104 strikeouts in 115.2 innings at Triple-A this season.

Selected to active roster The Orioles selected Davidson's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.
Impact Davidson has been with Norfolk for the entire season, putting up a 3.89 ERA and 1.34 WHIP alongside a 104:46 K:BB across 32 appearances (17 starts). He'll now join the active roster to give the O's some additional bullpen depth to close the regular season, but with a career ERA of 5.98, he will likely be limited to low-leverage situations. Bryan Baker was optioned to the Florida Complex League in a corresponding move.

Goes to Baltimore via waivers Davidson was claimed off waivers by the Orioles on Wednesday.
Impact It would appear the Royals didn't plan to tender Davidson a contract and instead tried to outright him, but the Orioles have scooped him up. The left-hander made 38 appearances (one start) between the Angels and Royals in 2023, collecting a 5.96 ERA and 46:19 K:BB over 51.1 innings. Davidson has plenty of past starting experience, but it's not clear at this point what role Baltimore has envisioned for him.
OCTOBER 25, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Struggles in time with KC Davidson pitched to a 5.03 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 15:8 K:BB over 19.2 innings after he was traded from the Angels to the Royals.
Impact Davidson's season ERA stood at 5.96 across 51.1 innings. He made modest improvements with Kansas City, which included him earning two holds, but he rarely saw much high-leverage work. He was used primarily as a started in his 52 innings across 12 appearances in 2022, but he's likely ticketed for bullpen work going forward. Davidson was modestly unlucky this year -- his 4.07 FIP suggests he pitched a little better than the surface numbers show.
OCTOBER 2, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Likely serving as opener Monday Davidson is listed as the Royals' probable starting pitcher Monday in Oakland and is expected to work as an opener in front of bulk reliever Alec Marsh.
Impact The Royals haven't clarified their pitching plans for the series opener, but Monday is Marsh's turn in the rotation and he worked behind an opening pitcher in his last outing Wednesday, so it stands to reason that the club will go that route again. Davidson made 11 starts between stops with Atlanta and Anaheim in 2022, but he's pitched exclusively in relief over 24 appearances with the Angels and Royals in 2023. Davidson hasn't covered more than four innings in any of those appearances and hasn't worked more than two innings since the beginning of June, so he's unlikely to stay in the game for more than once through the Athletics' batting order before giving way to Marsh.
AUGUST 21, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Takes extra-inning loss Davidson (1-2) allowed two runs (one earned) on a hit and a walk while striking out one over one inning to take the extra-inning loss Tuesday versus the Mariners.
Impact The Royals rallied from three runs down in the ninth inning to force extras, but Davidson gave up a two-run single to Ty France in the 10th. Over 3.2 innings with the Royals, Davidson has yielded four runs (three earned) with a 3:2 K:BB. The southpaw has a 6.62 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and 34:13 K:BB through 35.1 innings between the Royals and the Angels this year. While the Kansas City bullpen is a mess, Davidson hasn't pitched well enough to be considered for a higher volume of leverage situations.
AUGUST 16, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Dealt to Kansas City The Angels traded Davidson to the Royals on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations.
Impact Davidson was designated for assignment by the Angels last Thursday after struggling to a 6.54 ERA through 31.2 innings of long relief. The 27-year-old left-hander will immediately join the Royals' major-league roster as they play out the string on yet another disappointing campaign.
AUGUST 1, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Pushed off 40-man roster Davidson was designated for assignment Thursday, Sarah Valenzuela of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Impact New acquisition Reynaldo Lopez has officially been activated for the Angels' second game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Tigers, so roster space needed to be created. Davidson has put up a 6.54 ERA and 31:11 K:BB over 31.2 innings in a long relief role this season.
JULY 27, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Notches three-inning save Davidson earned a save against the White Sox on Wednesday, allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out two batters over three innings.
Impact Davidson didn't pitch particularly well -- among the seven hits he allowed, five went for extra bases -- but Los Angeles got off to such a big early lead that the southpaw still got credit for a save. This was mostly a case of the Angels preserving their bullpen and letting Davidson ride things out with a comfortable cushion, and he'll likely be down for a few days since he tossed 54 pitches in the outing. The reliever has two saves in long relief on the campaign, but he's not someone to target for that category (or any) in fantasy.
JUNE 1, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Shakes off leg injury Davidson (leg) retired two batters and allowed one earned run on two hits in his most recent relief appearance Friday in the Angels' 5-4 win over the Twins.
Impact Davidson had exited his previous relief outing last Tuesday against the Orioles after being struck on the leg by a line drive, but he avoided a serious injury and was available out of the bullpen after just a couple days of rest. The southpaw is expected to serve as a middle-innings or mop-up option out of the bullpen throughout the season.
MAY 23, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Exits after being hit in leg Davidson was hit in the leg by a line drive in the sixth inning of Tuesday's game against the Orioles and forced to exit, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Impact The line drive was hit by Ryan McKenna and carried a 106.2 mph exit velocity. Tucker went 1.2 innings without giving up a run with four strikeouts before leaving. Andrew Wantz has taken over on the mound.
MAY 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Takes big hit to ERA Davidson tossed two-thirds of an inning against Texas on Saturday, allowing seven runs on seven hits and one walk.
Impact The game wasn't completely out of reach for the Angels when Davidson entered in the ninth inning, as they were down 3-0 at the time. By the end of the frame, the team had deployed position player Brett Phillips to the mound after Davidson allowed seven straight batters to reach base with two outs. Five of those came around to score while the the southpaw was in the contest, and two more crossed the plate after he departed, resulting in an unsightly seven runs charged to his final tally. Davidson entered Saturday with a 2.25 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over seven appearances -- those numbers are now 5.94 and 1.62, respectively.

Sticking in bullpen, for now Davidson was bypassed for the start in Wednesday's game against the Nationals, with the Angels instead activating Griffin Canning (groin) from the 15-day injured list to have him t...
Impact Davidson opened the season in the bullpen but had been expected to enter the rotation when the Angels first required a sixth starter this week. However, with Canning progressing quicker than expected from the groin issue that forced him to the IL and then building up to five innings in his lone minor-league rehab start last Thursday, the Angels are opting to keep Davidson in the bullpen for the time being as a multi-inning option. The decision to go with Canning over Davidson for the sixth spot in the rotation became an easier one Monday, when Davidson was needed to cover three frames in relief after Jose Suarez lasted just four innings.
APRIL 12, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Earns four-inning save Davidson picked up a save Saturday against Oakland, hurling four scoreless innings during which he allowed three hits and one walk while striking out three batters.
Impact Davidson will presumably be the Angels' sixth starter the first time the team needs a pitcher to fill that role, but with Los Angeles getting a day off Friday, the left-hander was tabbed to stretch out in long relief for his season debut. He got through four frames in 41 pitches (25 strikes) and looked good in keeping the Athletics off the scoreboard. Fantasy managers shouldn't read into Davidson's save Saturday as any indication of him jumping into the Angels' unsettled closer situation, so those who roster him for his potential future starts and happened to have him in their lineup this weekend should see this as a happy, but probably one-time, bonus.

Impact Davidson will pitch out of the bullpen to begin the year, but also likely will be the sixth starter for the club when that becomes necessary. The left-hander is going to be part of the squad at least in part because Griffin Canning is battling a groin injury. Davidson struggled mightily in his limited time with both Atlanta and Los Angeles in 2022 -- the latter appearances coming after he was dealt for Raisel Iglesias at the deadline -- but will have a chance to stick with the Los Angeles staff to begin 2023.
MARCH 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Competing for final rotation spot Davidson and Griffin Canning are battling for a role as the Angels' sixth starter, Adrian Garro of MLB.com reports.
Impact The two hurlers have been battling it out throughout the spring, and Canning has put up better numbers, posting a 1.32 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB over 13.2 innings versus Davidson's 5.19 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB across 17.1 frames. One thing working in Davidson's favor, however, is that he is out of minor-league options while Canning is not. Whichever pitcher wins the competition may not see action in a starting role right away, as Angels general manager Perry Minasian said Tuesday that the team is "going to take it day by day, but there's a possibility that sixth spot maybe we don't use it right off the bat ... and if we don't use him right off the bat, he's in the bullpen and provides length there," per Garro.

Gets call for Cactus opener Davidson will start the Angels' Cactus League opener Saturday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
Impact Davidson is completing for the sixth spot in the Angels' rotation, although manager Phil Nevin has indication his sixth starter will serve more of a swingman role this year. The left-hander is out of options, so he seems likely to make the Opening Day roster in some capacity. Davidson's competition this spring includes Jaime Barria, Griffin Canning and Chris Rodriguez.
