Gets Sunday start
Zeuch is starting Sunday against the Yankees, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Impact
The Jays are pretty shorthanded in the rotation at the moment, so Zeuch will get a spot start earlier in the year than most expected. The lanky right-hander can generate groundballs at a solid clip but lacks bat-missing stuff. He is also far from a lock to go deep enough in this start to qualify for the win.

Likely starting Sunday
Zeuch will likely start Sunday's game against the Yankees, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.
Impact
Manager Charlie Montoyo announced Wednesday that Robbie Ray (elbow) would begin the season on the 10-day injured list, and Ross Stripling will take the mound for the Blue Jays on Saturday. As a result, Zeuch lines up as the likely starter for the series finale against the Yankees on Sunday. Zeuch made four appearances (two starts) in Grapefruit League play and posted a 5.40 ERA and 1.70 WHIP in 10 innings.

Included on Opening Day roster
Zeuch said Monday that he was informed he would be included on the Blue Jays' Opening Day roster, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.
Impact
Zeuch revealed the news after he was roughed up in his final start of the spring Monday against the Phillies, giving up five runs on nine hits and a walk over three innings. The poor showing inflated his spring ERA to 5.40, but it won't necessarily take Zeuch out of the running for a temporary spot in the rotation. Zeuch tentatively lines up to start against the Yankees on Saturday or Sunday, when Toronto will first require a replacement in the rotation for Robbie Ray (elbow). Rather than asking Zeuch to start, the Blue Jays could opt for a bullpen game instead, with the right-hander likely being an option to cover multiple innings in relief.

Could fill in for Robbie Ray

Impact
Toronto has yet to finalize its rotation beyond handing Hyun-Jin Ryu the Opening Day nod Thursday, but Zeuch looks like he may be in line for at least a short-term starting role while Robbie Ray (elbow) and Nate Pearson (groin) are on the mend. Zeuch is slated to start Monday's spring finale against the Phillies, so a strong showing in that contest would likely clear the way for him to get the ball for Toronto over the weekend. Since Ray isn't expected to miss more than one or two turns through the rotation, Zeuch could move back to the bullpen or head to the Jays' alternate site by the middle of April.

Not on wild-card roster
Zeuch is not part of Toronto's wild-card roster.
Impact
It's no big surprise to see Zeuch fail to make the team, as he only made three appearances this season. He allowed just two earned runs in 11.1 innings of work, though his 3:4 K:BB was quite poor.

Blanks O's in no-decision
Zeuch didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Orioles, giving up five hits over five scoreless innings. He didn't walk or strike out a batter.
Impact
The right-hander's sinker was humming Saturday, and 11 of the 15 outs Zeuch recorded came via groundballs. Unfortunately, John Means was also sharp for Baltimore and the first run of the game didn't cross the plate until the sixth inning, denying Zeuch his second win of the year. The 25-year-old didn't see much work in 2020 but still performed well when he got the call, posting a 1.59 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 3:4 K:BB through 11.1 innings. Given his large workload in this one (75 pitches), it's unlikely Zeuch will be part of the Jays' roster to begin the postseason.

Starting Saturday
Zeuch will start Saturday's game against the Orioles.
Impact
Matt Shoemaker had been lined up to start but threw a side session instead as the Blue Jays look to set up their options for the postseason. Whether this is a true start for Zeuch or if he's merely opening a bullpen game isn't clear. He hasn't pitched since Monday and has been a starter throughout the minors and in three of his seven big-league outings thus far, so it's certainly possible he's able to pitch fairly deep into the game.

Picks up win in long relief
Zeuch (1-0) picked up the win in relief during Monday's game against the Yankees, allowing one run on one hit and one walk across 3.1 innings. He did not record a strikeout.
Impact
With Matt Shoemaker only able to go three innings in his return from a lat strain, Zeuch was called upon to give Toronto multiple innings. The right-hander was up to the task, working three scoreless innings before allowing a run in the seventh. The 25-year-old has held his own during two appearances in long relief thus far, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks across 6.1 innings.
