Impact The Miami backstop stretched the lead to 5-1 with a 370-foot home run off Rays starter Shane Baz in the sixth inning. With this two-hit performance, Hicks is now riding a five-game hit streak over which he's batted .438 (7-for-16). The Marlins have been trying to find ways to work Hicks' bat into the lineup more often, as he's slashing .282/.352/.487 with four homers and 20 RBI through 90 plate appearances.

Shane Baz - Coughs up five runs in loss Baz (3-3) took the loss Sunday at Miami, allowing five runs on nine hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out two.

Impact Despite generating a solid 13 whiffs out of 96 total pitches, Baz fanned just two batters. This outing continues a tough stretch for the Tampa Bay right-hander, as he's conceded 21 runs on 30 hits across his last 19.2 innings (9.61 ERA). Through 49 total innings, Baz sports an unsightly 5.33 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 48:19 K:BB. He looks to right the ship in his next start, which currently lines up to be against the Blue Jays at home next weekend.

Otto Lopez - Slugs homer in return Lopez went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in Sunday's 5-1 victory over the Rays.

Impact The 26-year-old made his first appearance since May 2 after being activated from the injured list for an ankle injury before the contest. Lopez blasted a 401-foot home run off Tampa Bay starter Shane Baz in the fourth inning to give Miami a 3-1 lead. Lopez is now slashing .230/.293/.354 with three homers and steals apiece through 123 plate appearances. He appears set to re-establish his role as the Marlins' everyday second baseman.

Cal Quantrill - Fans six in win Quantrill (3-4) earned the win Sunday against the Rays, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out six.

Impact Quantrill matched a season high with his six punchouts, last achieved against the Dodgers on May 6. He stymied the Tampa Bay lineup, not allowing an extra-base hit and conceding a lone run on a Yandy Diaz groundout in the third. After pitching to an 8.10 ERA across his first 26.2 innings, Quantrill been sharper over his last three appearances, firing a 3.14 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 13:5 K:BB over 14.1 innings. He is currently slated to make his next start at the Angels next weekend.
