Denzel Clarke - Rehab assignment coming Friday Clarke (hip) is expected to start a rehab assignment Friday with Triple-A Las Vegas, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Impact Clarke was sidelined July 22 with a Grade 2 right adductor strain but has progressed enough to begin a rehab assignment as he works toward a return to the majors. His overall numbers this season -- a .646 OPS across 47 games -- have been underwhelming, yet the rookie entered the injury break swinging the bat well. In 14 games during July, he posted a .298/.340/.574 slash line with a .914 OPS, six doubles, two triples, one homer, two steals and two RBI. While the 25-year-old is still working to establish himself offensively at the major-league level, Clarke's return is highly anticipated for the difference his elite defense in center field can make.

Bob Seymour - Headed to majors The Rays are expected to select Seymour's contract from Triple-A Durham ahead of Friday's game against the Giants, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Impact The 26-year-old Seymour will be making his MLB debut after being selected in the 13th round of the 2021 Draft. Seymour has shown big power throughout his minor-league career and has slashed .263/.327/.553 with 30 home runs, 87 RBI, 70 runs scored, one stolen base and a 38:114 BB:K across 443 plate appearances at Triple-A this season. With Jonathan Aranda (wrist) still on the 10-day IL, Seymour could see regular playing time at first base or designated hitter.
