Diamondbacks add hot-hitting prospect Stuart Fairchild from Triple-A Reno The Diamondbacks called up Stuart Fairchild, adding a right-handed bat to a predominantly left-handed roster.

Called up Tuesday Fairchild was called up from Triple-A Reno prior to Tuesday's game against the Rockies.

Impact Fairchild returned from a hamstring injury in late June after missing over a month. He's performed excellently at the plate since being activated from Reno's injured list, going 11-for-26 with five homers and 13 RBI. He'll look to carry that hot streak with him to Arizona, where he could make his major-league debut in the coming days.

Impact Fairchild hasn't needed any time to shake off the rust after a hamstring strain kept him on the shelf for more than five weeks. The 25-year-old outfielder has been excellent over his 13 games with Reno this season, posting a .915 OPS while striking out in only 14.5 percent of his 55 plate appearances.

Placed on minor-league IL Fairchild was placed on the 7-day injured list with a hamstring injury Tuesday, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.

Impact Fairchild was sent to the minors in mid-March and slashed .263/.333/.421 with a home run, six runs, five RBI and two stolen bases across 10 games with Triple-A Reno. It's not yet clear how much time the 25-year-old will miss due to his injury.

Impact Arizona thought enough of Fairchild's long-term potential to add him to the 40-man roster and protect him from the Rule 5 draft this offseason, but he wasn't a serious candidate to break camp with the big club. The outfielder is expected to spend most of the season at Reno after he provided a .824 OPS in his 179 plate appearances at the Double-A level during the 2019 campaign.
