Victor Robles will replace Fairchild on the active roster, in his return from the Family Medical Emergency List. Impact After being dropped from the Mariners' 40-man roster Tuesday, Fairchild cleared waivers a few days later and elected to become a free agent Friday. He ended up working out a new deal with the Mariners a day later and will continue to provide the organization with outfield depth at the Triple-A level.

Impact The 30-year-old outfielder lost his place on Cleveland's 40-man roster last Friday to make room for Cooper Ingle, and Fairchild will now explore his options in the open market after passing through waivers. He's put up just a .565 OPS in 27 plate appearances in the majors this season, but his .289/.417/.479 slash line at Triple-A should be enough for him to attract a minor-league deal easily.
