Returning to Athletics
Vogt signed a contract with the Athletics on Wednesday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Impact
Vogt underwent sports hernia surgery in mid-October but should be ready as he returns to the Athletics on a major-league contract. The 37-year-old appeared in 78 games between Arizona and Atlanta last year and hit .195 with seven home runs, 25 RBI and 24 runs. He should serve as a backup at catcher behind Sean Murphy to begin the 2022 campaign.

Recovering from sports hernia
Vogt underwent sports hernia surgery recently and is expected to be ready for spring training, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Impact
He was recently designated for assignment but will remain in Atlanta's organization for now. Vogt provides valuable intangibles for any club, but he is unlikely to get much run in the majors anytime soon.

Return this season uncertain
Manager Brian Snitker said Tuesday that it's questionable whether Vogt (hip) will be able to return in 2021, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Vogt has been on the injured list since Friday due to right hip inflammation, and he was expected to be ready in a week to 10 days. While the 36-year-old initially appeared to be in line for a brief absence, he might not have enough time to get back into game shape prior to the end of the year.

Not in line for long absence
Vogt (hip) is expected to be ready to play in a week to 10 days, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Vogt left Thursday's game against Washington with right hip inflammation and hit the injured list Friday. It doesn't sound as though he'll miss more than the minimum 10 days however, with a brief rehab assignment possible if he's ready for game action before the 10 days are up.

Being examined for hip injury
Manager Brian Snitker said that Vogt exited Thursday's win over Washington because of a hip injury, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Impact
The skipper revealed that Vogt felt his hip pop while running after a wild pitch in the eighth inning. Based on the initial reports, there is certainly a possibility that the backstop will require a lengthy absence, though a return timeline won't come into focus until the medical staff is able to provide a full diagnosis.
