Noelvi Marte - Scratched from lineup Marte was scratched from Cincinnati's lineup ahead of Saturday's game against St. Louis, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Marte was playing catch with Elly De La Cruz before the game and got hit in the face by a throw when he wasn't paying attention. Spencer Steer will move to third base in Marte's absence, and Alejo Lopez will cover second base Saturday.

Alex Young - Moves to COVID-19 IL The Reds transferred Young (hamstring) to the COVID-19 injured list Saturday (retroactive to Friday).
Impact Young has been on the injured list since late August with left hamstring tightness, and he threw a scoreless inning in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday. However, Young's move to the COVID-19 list will ensure he remains out at least through Friday.

Alejo Lopez - Joins major-league squad The Reds added Lopez to the active roster as Stuart Fairchild's (illness) replacement Saturday.
Impact With Fairchild headed for the COVID-19 injured list, Lopez will fill in as a depth piece for the Reds while Fairchild is out. Lopez is slashing .279/.386/.396 across 497 plate appearances in Triple-A this season, and he is unlikely to see many opportunities while with Cincinnati.
