Nabs another save Halvorsen picked up the save Thursday against the Cardinals, allowing one hit and no walks with one strikeout across a scoreless ninth inning.

Impact Halvorsen picked up his second save of the campaign but appears to have a lock on the Rockies' closing job in the wake of Tyler Kinley's elbow injury. Halvorsen has been excellent since being called up Aug. 30, logging a 1.69 ERA with a 10:2 K:BB across 10.2 innings.

Picks up firs save Halvorsen picked up the save over the Dodgers on Saturday, allowing one hit and two walks over a scoreless ninth inning.

Impact Halvorsen entered the contest with a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth and allowed two of the first three batters to reach before getting Teoscar Hernandez to fly out for the second out. The rookie right-hander then issued a walk to Tommy Edman to load the bases, but managed to escape the jam by recording a strikeout for the final out. It marked the first save of Halvorsen's major league career, as well as the first time in nine appearances this season that he allowed any walks. He's also yet to allow an earned run on the campaign.

Set for MLB debut The Rockies selected Halvorsen's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

Impact Halvorsen was a seventh-round draft pick by the Rockies in 2023 and logged a 3.00 ERA in nine innings at Triple-A this season. The 24-year-old takes Noah Davis' spot on the 26-man roster and will serve out of the bullpen for Colorado.
