Lands in Minnesota organization The Twins acquired Leon from the Guardians on Tuesday in exchange for right-hander Ian Hamilton.
Impact The move restores some catching depth in the upper levels of the Twins' minor-league system after Caleb Hamilton was promoted from Triple-A St. Paul following Ryan Jeffers' (thumb) placement on the injured list shortly before the All-Star break. Leon, who is now with his third organization of the season, will report to St. Paul.

Impact Austin Hedges is the only MLB-ready catcher left on Cleveland's 40-man roster after the team declined Roberto Perez's $7 million option for 2022 earlier this month, so Leon helps restore some depth at the position.
