Impact After being released by the Rangers June 21, Leon will head to Columbus to join the Guardians' Triple-A affiliate. Leon has only played in four minor-league games this season -- going 3-for-11 with an RBI -- and will serve as an organizational depth piece going forward.

Impact Having been outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock earlier this month, Leon requested his release and it was ultimately granted. The veteran catcher slashed just .146/.186/.195 in 21 games (44 plate appearances) this year for Texas prior to losing his 40-man roster spot.

Impact Leon served as Texas' backup catcher for the first two and a half months of the season but only came to the plate 44 times. His .146/.186/.195 slash line and 45.5 percent strikeout rate make it easy to see why he failed to earn any more opportunities.
