Tommy La Stella - Status uncertain La Stella (Achilles) will receive treatment Tuesday after being scratched from a scheduled Cactus League start, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Impact La Stella underwent surgery on his Achilles in October and has been brought along slowly this spring. Previous reports indicated he'd be ready for Opening Day, but that's in some doubt after he wasn't ready to play Tuesday. He's still considered day-to-day for now, so his status for the start of the season will depend on how his Achilles responds to treatment.

James Kaprielian - Faces hitters Kaprielian (shoulder) faced hitters Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Impact Kaprielian will miss the start of the season while recovering from AC joint irritation, but he's taking steps in the right direction and could be ready to go before the end of April. He threw 30 pitches Tuesday, with his fastball sitting between 93 and 95 miles per hour.

Impact Long made a solid impression Monday versus the Athletics with a perfect inning. He's been hit by the long ball, allowing two home runs in his three appearances. The southpaw is still viewed as a starter by the Giants, but it's possible he could serve as a multi-inning reliever early in the season -- the five-man rotation is locked in but will still need to stretch out in the first few weeks.
